What a masterfully edited trailer. Looking forward to revisiting this game again, such a great experience.

Release date on the 25th of Sept.

Cool trailer Kojima. Thankfully you didn't spoil any of the new stuff.

Can't wait to play this on PS5. The wide mode seems cool too.

Also, the native 4K rendering looks noticeably better than the 4k checkerboard of the PS4 Pro version.

Such a relaxing game and it's unlike anything out there

This also makes me wonder what took this slot for the PS showcase
Happy Chris Pratt GIF

There is not any new "story" stuff to spoil I believe.

Is it required to start a new game to enjoy the extra features?

Or i should not waste time and just continue from my last save?

Is combat in this game optional? I don't know much beyond one needs to carry a bunch of stuff around.
Without wanting to spoil anything, during the bulk of the game, combat can be avoided, however, there are several sections in the game that force you into combat. It looks like this DC has far more weapons and more sections to use them in, but I'm pretty sure they won't be forced on the player - it just allows more options for those wanting to go in guns blazing I suppose.

Its great if you avoid a skirmish by counter pinging. Combat is servicable imo. Shooting feels decent, huge consequences if you lethally kill someone and don't burn the body. But there are lots of non-lethal weapons as well.

Was about to say I can't believe we're getting a directors cut less than a year after launch. Then I remembered this was a 2019 game. Geez I think I just deleted 2020 from my memory.

The game has some incredible imagery and is really pushing on the more artisitic side of gaming for me...

Love the music too.

good to know that, it takes a while for me to grind the items, would prefer to continue my save instead of starting over.
same here. They spoke about it in that post reveal trailer QA I guess, can be all played through at endgame.

It really is an awesome game but I would have preferred a simple current gen upgrade for like $10 instead of another full priced release. I mean judging from this trailer we're getting timed repeatable missions, driving mini games and some new story missions.

I dont think this is worth another $70 if I'm being honest.

Just give me the option bring my PS4 copy up to 4k 60 for a cheap price and then let me decide if I want to go all in on the other content from there.

Dude its $50 not $70?

Bestbuy Death stranding Directors cut $50

Bestbuy Death Stranding standard 2019 release $40

I mean you can find death stranding on sale retail or digital for like $20.

But in terms of pricing, they are going by what the game msrp's for which currently is $40.

So for Directors Cut your getting all that extra content for $10.

Pretty banging deal if you ask me as I have not played death stranding yet.

I ended up loving this after struggling so much in the beginning, but I dunno if its worth going through it again, those first 8 hours are, well slow

I appreciate this trailer's ability to get me excited for something I've already experienced. I really hope this version of the game has even more people playing it. Too many people missed out the first time around.

But then you've (probably) got 40 hours of kino after that in this. It'll be worth it, buddy.

I still feel burned out after about 120 hours in the original release. It looks really good though and i like the additions. Maybe i will play it sometime in the future.

One of the most memorable games of the last generation.

NGL, I bought a Series X, but this game remake makes me wish a little that I had a PS5, although the combat in the game was an abortion, it really wasn't integrated correctly, the boss fights were awful. The story though and the gameplay was amazing. Kojima really captured the wonder of entering a new town with his scenery and the music he timed perfectly to play with your arrival. The world building here was top notch.

Looking forward to playing it again, its just so different from anything else out there.

Currently playing this on PC 1440p, max settings.

Like butter, baby. 🤝

Should be a fun time for those who cop the Directors cut. Kinda jealous PS5 get the new goodies.

Errr, you can upgrade the game for 10 bucks.

Anyway, ppl with twitter, pls. give some love to Kojima, he's clearly very emotionally invested in this trailer, and it doesn't seem likely it will get millions of views (hope to be wrong).

Love this music, but I thought he'll use something more obscure, to "introduce" us to it. It's not really obscure, I recognized it immediately, and I believe the group got award for composition's original music video. Still, very good.

When I read "directors cut" I thought " oh awesome, they will cut 2/3 of that bullshit love parade in Chapter 3. Unfortunately it aint so...

Nice track choice. Vibes of Progressive/Progressive House with some industrial bits.

I made it a good chunk of the way into the game before I stopped a while ago. I wonder if I'd be missing some of the 'Director's Cut' bits if I upgrade and resume from where I left off.

But the upgrade is $10 if you're going from the PS4 to PS5 version. Is that what you mean?
