After a year of console exclusivity on the PS5, Deathloop will release on Xbox consoles, Xbox Game Pass, and PC Game Pass, on September 20th. The first-person shooter developed by Arkane Lyon was nominated for several game of the year awards after its release in September last year thanks to its captivating mix of action and stealth gameplay, retro sci-fi art style, and interesting time looping structure. Deathloop also released on PC in addition to PS5 last September.

First I thought Deathloop would be something like Returnal, the name fitted imho, then I thought it was a rather normal singleplayer only experience, and now I read matchmaking. Marketing really left me clueless what this game even is.

Invasion? fuck that. I unplugged my PS3 for Demons Souls.

I really liked Deathloop but probably won’t be going back in. For those worried about invasions the game is very clear that they can be disabled right from the start screen.

The invasion mechanic is almost like a second mini game where you play as the female character, you essentially are security trying to stop Cole( the main character from screwing everything up). These invasions are part of the core game but are controlled by an NPC if you are playing without online features. You can level up and reveal more about her story by playing this mode.

For those who like them crossplay is hopefully a good addition as waiting to enter a game as the invader was really bad on PS5. I actually just gave up on this mode as it was sometimes 5 to 10 minutes.

Doubt i’ll play it again but I loved it.

The gameplay loop works so well because it’s insanely fun and doesn’t overstay it’s welcome, which is a big thing considering how repetitive it is.

You can turn it off in a menu; but the invasion is a core (yet small) mechanic of the game, every now and then you're hunted by Julia and this will be an NPC if you turn matchmaking off.

It was actually a really fun mode to mess around with for a few hours when I was done with the story, just got old fast.

Basically yeah, some people really thought MS wouldn't put a first party on game pass, at least date and time with its PS+ release.
Reading that thread now with the recent information is quite funny, some interesting reactions.

At least some so-called neutral posters showed their true colors I guess.

-Fallout 5, Starfield and tes 6 won't be exclusive because they can't afford it.
-Won't be day one on game pass either.
-Deathloop won't come to Xbox and especially not on game pass.

- call of duty won't be exclusive to xbox or come on game pass cus they can't afford it. (we are here in the time line)

There will also be new content and crossplay.

crossplay should help with the player base, I need to get back to that game & IIRC some trophies are related to invading other players as Juliana?

Was it some thought it wouldn't go to GP? More nonsense 🙄
I mean with it coming to PS+ this month why was it nonsense for people to think there might be an exclusivity window for it to be on PS+? coming to GamePass as well is a good thing to help with the player base

I'm wondering if new trophies will be included with the update. Definitely going to jump back in, I loved running around headshotting enemies with the silenced tribunal.

This also addresses any concerns I had about Sony likely having a contract clause blocking Game Pass release for a period of time of certain games even once the timed exclusivity period was up. If they didn't even have it on this game, which was a full timed exclusive, chances are slim they have any such thing on the Call of Duty franchise. It confirms Sony really does have no Game Pass contingency, which further explains their aggressiveness in attempting to block the Activision deal.

The most unimpressive "10/10" game ever.

I don't know a single person who bought this game or cared.
I tried it when it was like 30 bucks, the combat is..not good. Took me forever to understand the concept lol, but ill try it again for achievements but its not that good

I hope the game can be completed in 2 days. My Gamepass expires on the 22nd and I won't be renewing till the next $1 offer.

This good news, thanks for the info.

It took some time for me to get into it, but it ended up being amazing

The story is told in a very clunky way, but it's great once you start figuring it out

I'm glad it's coming to Gamepass, because I see a lot of people giving it a chance that otherwise they wouldnt

I'm particularly glad about the inclusion of an extended ending, because it was EASILY the worst part of the game.

The conclusion sucked, so I'm happy to see them addressing it
