Ah cool didn’t know that. Still, I don’t think Deathloop 2 is going to sell a bunch of XSX to PS5 gamers, seem too far away.
It must honestly suck for MS to stand out in the rain on this release. It’s their studio, one of the highest rated games in their current library, and they can’t really hype it up or enjoy the success.

I’d say everyone is a winner here.
PS5 owners get to play this now, Game Pass users get to play it in their subscription next year, Arkane gets the critical reception that it deserves, Phil Spencer goes to sleep with a big stiffy knowing he’s picked up a great studio.

Technically that is not true, as of march 21 Arkanes salarys,rent and other expenses would ultimately come from Microsoft so the last 6 months of deathloops development was funded by Microsoft. The development time prior to that was funded by Zenimax.

This game is in such a crazy position which is why it's causing so much confusion among fanboys... a Sony timed exclusive published by Microsoft created by a Microsoft owned studio.
Xbox fans have a wait a year but they get it on Game Pass and the knowledge that all future Death Loop and Arkane games will be exclusive to the platform.
Sony fans get a GOTY candidate right now but it's bitter sweet because they can't champion the series or developer as it's with the 'enemy' from here on out.

yeah I preloaded it yesterday on my PS5 and that sounds about right, I remember it was <30GB which kinda surprised me

I think that’s completely on purpose. The challenge is the puzzle. It’s pushing you to explore, investigate and fuck around with the world.
It’s not an FPS.
I was thinking about this if Deathloop is the odd's on favourite to win Game of the Year at Keighley's thing, I wonder if they are going to make sure they push the 'Arkane' name during a Redfall trailer during the show. That's the only thing that they could really do.

Dude move your cheerleading to official Xbox OT. If you don't want to discuss the review or the game itself. These companies don't give a shit about your alliances. MLB the Show is developed by Sony and is also releasing on Xbox and probably switch next year. Minecraft is owned by Microsoft and is on 3 PlayStation consoles and Nintendo consoles. Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo are timed exclusive PS5 games but the IP are now owned by Microsoft via Zenimax acquisition. Sunset Overdrive was an Xbox exclusive but the IP is now owned by Sony etc etc.

If you have nothing worthwhile to add to a thread, you shouldn't be in here to begin with, this is not about Sony or Xbox. This is about Arkane launching a phenomenal title for us all to enjoy eventually (by late 2022 for GP)

Lol yeah it’ll be awkward, and MS has other things to be mad about about on The Game Awards with the release date on Halo after the cutoff date, Halo is literally a 2022 release within that bubble.

Deathloop certainly rounds out the end of the year nicely with Horizon to come in February, then GT7 in March, Forspoken in April. A busy period for Sony.
I reckon this and BF2042 look like the must have games this holiday period.
