Umm.. wha? What's an MB4? What's a songs2?

If it means 512mb for 220 songs, they are fucking insane. Maybe if all the songs were under two minutes long and were at the shittiest quality.

2 Assumes audio format is 64kbps WMA encoding with average song length of 4 min.

64?!??!?!?! uh.....

at least apple assumes 128Kb AAC, which is fine sounding audio. most people probably don't notice any loss on 128Kbps AAC. Now if apple would just include AAC-HE, 128Kbps should be enough for almost everyone.

The "2" is a footnote reference, nothing more. I copied and pasted from dell's site.

"DJ Ditty"?

Well, they got the last 4 letters right.

Seriously, do NONE of these companies understand why the iPod is successful. These damn industrial cheap designs are pathetic. The thing looks like a highlighter.

It's $50 after the mail in rebate to Yahoo but what a shitty design. The DJ20 (which I bought last year for $130) is nice, though.

It looks like a lighter. It's fucking ugly with the colors! But it's fucking ugly regardless.

Hmm... FM Receiver built in and a screen for playlists, etc. Diddy has one upped the Shuffle. Too bad the Shuffle craps all over it in every other aspect. I don't think Jobs is losing any sleep tonight over this one.

Are they just now announcing this? It's been on their site for a few days. o_O

Yeah, I saw it on Engadget a few days back. Maybe Dell is even a little embarrassed by it. It doesn't help that Apple released the Nano a few weeks back, making every other flash player look stupid.

Im confused by the comments in this thread. If it were an Apple product, everyone would be bashing it for not having a tuner, now everyone says it does not matter. Where were you in January when the shuffle came out? ;)

No AM, no buy!
what's sad is... i'm serious :(

AM radio? You won't buy a product because it doesn't receive AM radio? Are you waiting for some super secret NSA broadcast or something?

Actually, if you read my post, I gave the Diddy points for having the tuner and a screen, but said that the shuffle seem to beat it in every other way. For the record, I'm not that impressed with the Shuffle until it at least gets a screen.

And for the record, I'd want AM as well. If I want to listen to music, I'd already have plenty of that on the player. I listen to AM for talk radio, sports, etc.

Why doesn't Dell offer these with their laptops and desktops? Would be a decent way to break into the market.

...unless they do already.

Your music isn't monochrome. Why should your LCD be? Oh...wait...

And did they have to make the name rhyme with 'shitty'?

i too am dissapointed that 99.9% of mp3 players dont have AM (sports talk). im not even sure if one exists?

oh and this is probably gonna get diddy pissed off like spiketv did to spike lee. they just should have called it diddy and had diddy do all the advertising. have it pre-loaded with diddy songs or something. that probably would have been pretty cool advertising.

Damn Dell... how generic can you get? They can expect to sell about seven of these bad boys.
yes and we all know how poorly the shuffle sold.

someone posted a reason. basically the antenna needed for any AM reception is too big for a mini-player. you can't get an am antenna in a thumb drive sized player.

Pissing all over it from a great height...

And I too would love for AM to be included in these tuners...why it's always left out is beyond me.

*sniff*

Why would dell actually tell anyone that they created a hole to pour money down? god there are about 30million different types of this exact player around already. EVERYWHERE.
