Anyone got any experince with this? Dell has it on sale for about $240. It's basically a mini computer. It can play Divx, mp3s, avi, use pocket internet explorer, pocket word, pocket excel, use e-mail, aim, yahoo, msn messager, ALL with built in WI-FI.

What's the word, good deal or no?

Any better deals that you can find around the same price, with buiilt in Wi-Fi.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated

I own an Axim 3xi with roughly the same specs, and it's a great little PDA. You may be able to find some coupon combos on bensbargains.net or something to get that price down a little, but I think you'd be happy with it...

Truly, how well does pocket IE function as a browser? Is it a horrible expereince like phone browsers, or does it really work? I.E. can I surf GA briskly on the thing? I plan on getting the attachable keyboard controller, so typing won't be a problem.

It's nice. I have the X30 624mhz (or something liek that) and it's just great. I'm using it right now. Pocket IE works fine for most sites, but I recommend you get Netfront for the rest if IE don't work. It's easy to surf, but they'll be a lot of scrolling from left to right if the site isn't made for a PDA. If you wan't an easier surfing experience, get a X50 with higher resolution. Should be easier to view. But anyway, the WIFI works great. I used it very often. (When I'm in class and crap to use AIM)

is their better wireless software to select what network to connect to for this thing?

my gf has one, and it is a bitch to setup.

Might want to take a look at this thread http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=13524

Had mine over a year now, great pda for web surfing, games, info etc...

Awesome, I think I've definitely found the product for me... How is it typing on the thing though? Do you have a keyboard attachment? That's pretty much the sole thing I'm concerned about. Especially if the web browsing is as competent as you say. I wonder if it can use my cellphone as a modem when I'm not around any hot spots?

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
Which Axim comes with Bluetooth and WiFi built in... the X50? NM I see even the X30's come with it... what's the difference between the X30 series and X50? Horsepower?

I usually type with the stylus and the on-screen keyboard but there's a ton of input options including built in handwriting recognition. Believe it or not you get pretty fast tapping out on the keyboard not to mention Netfront webbrowser has form-complete like IE, history, bookmarks, save full MHT webpages like desktop IE.

Oh and for your cellphone you can use bluetooth or a cable to connect them. This site The Supply Net is THE place to get cables.

Get yourself a nice 512meg SD card for about $50 and you download tons of stuff, stream movies, live web radio while you surf... just about anything you can do on your PC.

Hehe, you can get 1gb sd card for around 50 bucks now. I use Tengo (input method... weirdo keyboard) to type when I'm using AIM or just typing notes or crap like that. The regular onscreen keyboard is what I use for web browsing. It's not that bad. I don't have a keyboard, but I'm pretty sure they work just fine. There's a new bluetooth one from Think Outside that is supposed to be very good. Visit www.aximsite.com if you want more info on the X30. They've got everything and the forum is quite helpful.

Wow, you REALLY make me want this now... Do you guys have the 312 Mhz versions, or the beefier 624? On screen keyboard is fuine, but i'll prolly buy a keyboard that plugs into the bottom of the device, like a handheld. Also, so you're saying you can use your phones internet connection via bluetooth to connect to the web and surf?????? So, if I'm ot near a hotspot I can still get online? If that's the case. SOLD.

400mhz version

And yeah, you can surf the net anywhere with bluetooth or the cable, no hot-spot needed. The Axim will find and try to login into open hotspots as you roam too so thats another option.

man, i want that x50v so bad... if it were only $100 less i'd snap it up!

and what the hell is up with them only selling the weaker battery standard?

if you want the 'good' battery, you have to buy it as an accessory and have two? wtf!?

I thinking about selling my X30 and getting a X50v, but don't have the time to do it right now.

Hmm... I might as well do it right, and get the x50v... I mean you can't go wrong with a VGA screen... That bthing is awesome. I think it pretty much replacs the need for a laptop.

I'll just wait another month, and get the big boy.

I would, but I'm just going to wait fo rthe x50v to drop down to $299...I need VGA in my life.

It's the 624 Mhz baby too..

*pops collar*

I figured go all the way or don't go at all. I got the best battery they had (with "free" 256 MB mem card), a Rhino-skin case, the USB uplink cable, and the Britannica Encylopedia (never know when you might need some info..always potentially pimpin). I passed on the GPS because I didn't see myself using it that much, but it was tempting. Can't wait for my baby to arrive!!
