Denuvo by Irdeto now registered as authorised Nintendo Switch™ middleware
Game developers and publishers can now access the video game protection software in the middleware section of the Nintendo Developers Portal.

Even if a game is protected against piracy on its PC version, the version released on Nintendo Switch can be emulated from day one and played on PC, therefore bypassing the strong protections offered on the PC version. This can happen with any of the numerous games available on Nintendo Switch.
As with all other Denuvo solutions, the technology integrates seamlessly into the build toolchain with no impact on the gaming experience. It then allows for the insertion of checks into the code, which blocks gameplay on emulators.
As for my take on this, if it's just 'checks' this will be circumvented within nanoseconds. The problem is that it's illegal in almost all jurisdictions to circumvent copy protection like this, meaning emulator developers can't solve this problem. I suspect Denuvo for Switch is a legal tool, not a tool to combat emulation of games (which will continue to happen in various degrees). The developers of Yuzu and Ryujinx cannot legally add ways to circumvent Denuvo.
