So let me get this straight. This guy spent two years working for Microsoft and all he had to show was a CGi trailer some trailer company made for him?

One, Surely this isnt particularly efficient.

Not one post alluded to any console warrior shit but you can't help scratching that itch can you. Just STFU if you have nothing better to add.

On topic: I'm sure this won't affect the production of the game on any way. Industry people come and go all the time.

On topic: I've always liked this guy's vision, and even though I have no plans to get a MS console, I was quite excited to play whatever he was working on. I hope he can sort everything out and perhaps return to Insomniac or create his own studio, we need more games like Sunset Overdrive in this world.

Personal reasons can have so many reasons, a personal reason can also be that he did not feel comfortable in his working environment.
Could be that he has health issues, but I don't think it is related to problems inside the family, because at the end he still need a job to support his life and I am sure he was getting paid very well there. Regardless of his departure, I don't think it will directly impact Perfect Dark (if it turns out great, good, okay or bad) because they still have enougth other talented people there.

but my life outside of work needs more attention and headspace than I have been able to give it lately, so I'm stepping down from my role.

If you honestly believe there aren't people on this site who would use this news as an excuse to concern post about Xbox and it's management, then you're either blind or stupid.

I mean, personal reasons can mean anything. It could be that he simply wasn't in love with the direction of the project and he wanted to go elsewhere and work on something else.

Eitherway, there's no reason to think the project or studio is in trouble based on a single studio departure. These things happen all the time in games development.

Look at Amy Hennig leaving ND during U4 development. U4 turned out great in the end, it was just not the original vision Amy had for the game, and so Amy walked away. Neither party was wrong.
 
Dont know why the normal movements of employees in and out of employment at game studios garners so much attention.

Though sorry to hear the reasons for his departure.
