DestinyGAF Clan -> Request thread

This thread has been through a lot, but luckily we have finally reached a point where we are under the same banner of DestinyGAF.

This thread are for those on NeoGAF who wished to join DestinyGAF and play with other like minded people.

If you would like to join, please read the following instructions:

1. Go to www.Bungie.net
2. Log in using your Microsoft Account or Playstation Network
3. Go to "Setting -> About Me" and change your "Display Name" to match YOUR NEOGAF ID.
4. Go to this webpage -> http://www.bungie.net/7_DestinyGAF/en/Groups/Detail?groupId=100661
5. Request to join DestinyGAF
6. Make a post in this thread include your "Display Name" and one of the mods on DestinyGAF will accept you after confirming your identity. (If you want, include your MS/PSN name as well. But it's not necessary, since some people prefer to keep it private)
7. Sit back and relax, when you been approved, a mod will quote your post and tell you that you've been accepted. If you haven't been accepted after a while, please re-post and one of the mod will get to it.
8. Please be patient. We only have a few admins, and probably hundreds of people wanting to be members :) But we will get to all of you in time.

I'd like to be in a secondary PS4 clan if possible, I'm not sure I'll play enough Crucible to be worth my place in the main clan :)


fake edit: wait, is this the page for the new clans or will you be making a new one for that?

I feel the same, especially if this is mainly for PvP, if it is for everything in Destiny then I'd be happy to be in the primary.

Isn't the idea that a group should encompass everything and then the clans are for the people that want to specialize and have limits?

What's the reason to be in a clan ?

During the Alpha I joined DestinyGAF and couldn't find a way to view members online etc while in game

Is there a GAF Destiny group? I want to be part of it :)

Also, I think you should post such links in email tags [*/email] so that lurker don't join.

Edit: Ah, I just saw that you need a approval to be able to join - alright!

but that make it harder for people to find people on specific platform to play with.

the point of having platform specific group is so you don't have to sort through hundred of people just to find someone you wanna play with that has the same platform. this way, everyone in the group will be on the same platform.

You can have clans within a group when the full game launches. If GAF decides they want to separate by platform they will have the option to do so in the existing group.

Well then they can join platform specific group. and if later on we can create clan. then I will make a PS4 clan. But most games only allow you to be in one clan. if thats the case. then people might prefer to be in a GAF PS4 group, but not a clan. since they would want to play with their outside friends.

But we'll see.

right now, having specific group make more sense than having a general group.

thats why i created a PS4 only Destiny group. so we can have people who want to play on PS4 without PS3, and Xbox people taking up valuable space. My link is up top.

because if you tell me to add psn:_______ but it's not the same as what I see on my computer. I wont know who you are! so go on bungie.net and go to setting. change your name so that it matches your PSN name!

If you just sent me a request and havent been accepted yet. I just denied you.

Please go on www.bungie.net.

Change your Name to match your PSN ID. It would be ALOT easier for me to figure out who is who.

then post in this thread again with your PSN ID. which should now be the same as your NAME on that website.

Thank you and sorry for the confusion. it's just that i have 10 people requesting and i have no idea who is a Gaffer or not because the names doesnt match. (except a few people who already changed it. like Jburton)

if you're having trouble changing your name to match your PSN ID

follow this instructions

1. go to www.bungie.net
2. log in using your psn name
3. look on the upper right corner of the screen to see your DISPLAY NAME
4. hover over it and go to "SETTINGS"
5. go to "ABOUT ME"
6. there should be an option to change your DISPLAY NAME
7. change it to match with your PSN ID.

It keeps flip-flopping, but it did say change wouldn't be immediate. Sometimes when I refresh it says Splitdog79, sometimes Horseticuffs. I'm sure it'll stabilize in the next few hours at the latest.
