9.0 Presentation
A surprisingly well-told story gets a few extra scenes and is joined by speedy load-times and an excellent interface. Oh, and the cutscene direction rocks!
8.5 Graphics
Dante aged pretty well in the last year and his game still stands out as a visual thunderclap. Expect fast framerates, great textures and lighting effects, and inspiring artistic design throughout.
9.0 Sound
Superb digital mixing, an awesome soundtrack, and one of the better vocal casts that Capcom has ever used come together quite effectively.
9.0 Gameplay
A super-customizable combat system gets even deeper with an added character, readjusted difficulty settings, and a few other tweaks. It's still fun, fun stuff.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
The cool Bloody Palace arena mode, the ability to play as two completely different characters, and a host of secret missions should ensure extensive playtime.
9.0
Outstanding OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)
The first version of Devil May Cry 3 was one of the best PlayStation 2 games of last year and seeing it come out again with a bunch of extra features and a price of only twenty bucks is definitely hard to resist... That is, unless you've already played the hell out of 2005's disc. Great upgrade that this might be, it's hard to justify picking it up again unless you're a diehard fan of the series or someone who has never played it before. Happy gaming to those that qualify!
