Some parts are so messed up.

"The boy — who was 14 at the time — outlined his plan in a note found by police. It read: “Operation New Life. Kill family. Lose memory. Get adopted by rich couple. It all starts.”"

"Sir Allan Green, prosecuting, said the boy wrote a reminder to cut himself to make it look like “a demon had done it”."

It's only a matter of time before someone jumps off a roof on top of someones head to try to emulate Mario.
:lol

seriously. It seems to be the new trend to blame videogames for ones crimes.

chalk it up to a generation that didn't grow up with videogames....someday they will die and we will be in charge.

I'm gonna attempt to do 'snaking' on the streets with a copy of Mario Kart DS in the car. Nfans am cry

The 16-year-old — who modelled himself on a half-human/half-demon PlayStation 2 character — also hit his brother with an axe leaving him brain-damaged.

I'm not a DMC player, but has/did Dante ever hit people with axes? if not, then the connection between these incidents is lost on me... I mean, if he's really that hardcore about the game, he wouldn't break character... would he?

and if Dante does hit people with axes, ignore this ^^

I think this was a serious fear and may have actually happened back in the 80s.

This kid was just screwed up though. He didn't need Devil May Cry to set him off. Anything could have done it.

This prove sthe point that some of us were arguing in another htread. People like to just point and say that Rockstar should clean up their games. But this happens with every single game. Who would've thought DMC of all games would've been blamed give its over the top nature? But it is.

What the fuck is this article? If it's not fake it carefully written for sensationalism.
Fuck man, even the family recognised that their child was a loner! No blame on the parents "it's the videogame they bought for him".
What about puting stupid parents to jail for buying a mature videogame to a 14 years old? Even if it sounds stupid it makes more sense than accuse Devil May Cry. Oh well...

I blame the parents, not DMC, raise you kids idiots.

See, what the article doesn't go into is that all the Devil May Cry games are rated 16+ by PEGI, so the kid (at 14) had no business playing them anyway. It's an obvious example of parents not paying any attention to the ratings on the games.

On ctv news they were blaming need for speed for street racing. As if movies like fast and the furious don't exist.

:lol :lol I saw that one. Jeez, at least news are good comedy

Uhhh... it's The Sun. Of course it was written for sensationalism.

No one here actually knows what a tabloid is. They just hear about them a lot. i'm sure some folks imagine them as airborne robots.

Can't blame the parents. It's all about videogame companies, parents have no blame in this.

although I do agree that parents have a great deal of responsibility when it comes to how a kid turns out, once the kid gets into teenage years he/she has a certain responsibility as well.

A lot of people seem to forget that.

From what I saw when I was in high school, there were kids that had loving, responsive parents- but the kid would manipulate that, take advantage of their parents, and just be little shits. Influence from peers plays into that- this happens beyond what the parent can see and control. Parents (unfortunately not as many as there should be) try to communicate with their kids, but the kids either ignore them or are not willing to talk about their day at school, their friends, their dreams, fears, whatever. Things cycle out and eventually there is a massive gap between a kid and their parent(s)- and it's not just because the parent is doing a neglectful job.

Just wait until some of you have kids. It's not as easy as "Hmm, I'll be a good parent and that's it."

A 7 year old walking into daycare and shooting some kid because they wouldn't let them play with a toy- that is a significant parental problem at home.
A 14, or 17 year old kid having delusions of fiction, killing family/friends/whatever- there is something chemically wrong there that goes well beyond just parental activity, IMO.

Eww

I want some Jessica lookalikes in bunnysuits, DAMMIT
And by Jessica lookalikes I mean ones THAT ARE OF THE SAME SEX AS JESSICA

I have to wonder what could possibly be the emotions of the parents toward their son after something like that. I mean, I'm sure they still love him, but he killed another of their children. That would seem to be the thing that would instill the most strongly opposite feeling.

I would turn on the TV
but it's so embarrassing
to see all the other people
I don't know what they mean
and it was magic at first
when they spoke without sound
but now this world is gonna hurt
you better turn that thing down
Turn it around

Well it wasn't me says the boy with the gun
sure i pulled the trigger but it needed to be done
because life's been killin' me ever since it begun
you cant blame me cause i'm too young

You cant blame me, sure the killer was my son
but I didn't teach him to pull the trigger of the gun
It's the killing on his TV screen
You can't blame me, it's those images he sees

Well, You can't blame me says the media man
Well I wasn't the one that came up with the plan
and I just point my camera what the people wanna see
man it's a two way mirror and you can't blame me

You can't blame me says the singer of the song
or the maker of the movie which he based his life on
It's only entertainment and as anyone can see
it's smoke machines and make-up, man, you can't fool me

It was you
it was me
it was every man
We all got the blood on our hands
we only receive what we demand
And if we want hell then hell is what well have

And I would turn on the TV
but it's so embarrassing
to see all the other people
don't even know what they mean
and it was magic at first
but let every one down
Now this world is gonna hurt
You better turn it around
turn it around

I hope that was a joke? The next version of HTML needs sarcasm tags.
