Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2?

Starcraft II. Simply because SC hasnt got a sequel yet(ghost doesnt count, not even a pc game). And D3 would eat into WoW im thinking. Gotta space stuff like that out. ;)

Diablo III

After Warcaft III, I don't have a lot of faith in Blizz for RTS games to blow me away. WCIII, while not a bad game by any means, was a step in the wrong direction for the series, IMO.

I thought Diablo II was a bit of a step backwards from Diablo as well, but I'd still love to see a Diablo III.

Starcraft 2. Warcraft 3 was a disapppointment and I demand a awesome SC2 so Blizzard can show that they've still got it.

What was dissappointing about WC3?

I bought that game the day it came out, and the disc hasn't left my CD-ROM. I'm dead serious. Christ, that game is awesome for just watching replays of pros play...

Edit: the WC3 disc came out the day I put the Frozen Throne disc in.

Ung. This is an impossible choice.

The thing that's great about Starcraft and the Diablo franchise is that, even if we never see a sequel to either, those games are gonna hold up forever. I still occassionally get a bug to play one of them and have a blast doing it.

That said, I am going with Starcraft 2, because I think it is the easier game to make (especially if they take the series in a different direction than Warcraft)...and also because I think that franchise lends itself to modern PC technology (and a 3D engine) better than Diablo does. I am not entirely confident in Blizzard's ability to make a 3D Diablo game that holds up to Diablo and Diablo 2, and I recall them saying many times that that's the only direction they are interested in taking the series.

I just pray that if and when we do see SC2, they go the opposite way that they did with WC3. I want larger battles than we had in the first SC! With a focus on macro management, i.e.- units countering units, not which spell I have to click on the fastest to counter the other guys..

Diablo III by a countrywide fucking margin. Poured countless hours into Diablo II.

Edit: For you guys wondering why Diablo II is loved by so many, the reason is rather simple. It has the best reward system ever designed for a video game. The sheer amount of loot you can find the the drive to find the rarest loot is insidious in it's addictivness. For that reason alone it's one of the a few games I return to over and over. Most games are play it/beat it/never touch it again. Not Diablo.

Diablo was fun for awhile but I never really understood the huge amounts of love it got.

I can only speak for myself, but my Diablo love springs from:

Atmosphere
Art Design
Music
Simple but rewarding gameplay (you know they did something right when I get just as much joy out of a clickfest during the 100th hour as I did during the first)

In that order, too. Diablo for me is all about the atmosphere it creates and the feeling it gives me. No, its not overly complex gameplay-wise. But nothing beats trudging through the catacombs late at night with the lights out. Diablo creates just the perfect sort of atmosphere I love in games.

Starcraft 2. With more races and units, in hi res, no lame unit limits, and gigantic end of SWep2 esque battles.

Diablo III would be my choice, but the game just screams out to be made on a next-gen console instead of the PC.

I have a hunch.....that it will be neither. JAGGED ALLIANCE 3

BELIEVE

Jagged Alliance 3 has been announced and is already in development... but what does Blizzard have to do with it? Nothing. Same goes with the first 2 JAs (and addons)

This is my biggest complaint with WCIII. The scale felt reduced to the point of constant irritation any time I played, even months after TFT was released. The smaller, more action-RPG-like focus was just wrong for the series, IMO. I don't want SC2 to suffer the same fate...

Starcraft 2. I can hear the crackle and hiss of the SCV's welding my barracks together in my dreams. The story was easily my favourite in any RTS, and at the end of Brood War I was dying to find out what was coming in SC2.

Starcraft 2.

I wouldn't have time to play Diablo III at the moment (cause of WoW) and I really need the next RTS after WC3 (WC3 was one of the greatest games of all time, but I have played it hundreds of hours and really need teh next RTS :D ).

We have had too many Diablo games and expansions since Starcraft.

Starcraft 2 plz thx Diablo 3 can wait.

Although this argument is moot since Blizzard has already decided to give us another Diablo game first.

StarCraft 2.
Every Korean people would be pleased.
I'm korean and I could care less about SC. Only saw it once at a friend's house, shrugged, and played pool instead.

Hate to say this, but why not try something different than either of those 2 games? Blizzard is definitely the top PC developer, responsible for some of the most polished PC games in existence, but sadly I'm not a fan of the genres they work in. Well, Diablo I enjoy even if it's a bit too hack/slash for my tastes. I would like to see them tackle a brand new genre that's not action RPG or RTS...

Both would be splendid, but I'd prefer StarCraft 2. StarCraft is one of my favorite games of all time, and definitely one of my most played games ever. Perhaps my MOST played game ever. I just played around 2 hours of it last night, over some Perfect Dark Zero or Geometry Wars.. :lol

What's to stop them from doing both? Don't they have four internal development teams now? At least?

I think the safe bet for Blizzard would be to announce a new franchise AFTER they've already shown us their progress on one of these two games. A new series would be a bitter pill to swallow for the fans who have been slavering for one of these titles for years and years...
