Could just be a placeholder date, but https://halo.monsterenergy.com/ has a countdown going and it ends at midnight on November 30th/December 1st:

Big marketing deals like that don't roll with placeholders. Looks legit to me. Extrapolating...December 1st Series X launch date.

Definitely a placeholder. You don't release a console from monday->tuesday

If it's midnight on Tuesday the 1st, that's not an unusual day for a non-Nintendo console launch.
Is it? To be fair xbox 360 is a long time ago so don't know it for that anymore, but in Europe I think the ps4 and Xbox one released on a Friday

It's 4 months till release, wonders like this does not happened in video games industry.
Pretty much every halo game was in a similar state 4 months before release. Anyone that doesnt think a team of 350 plus cant make serious improvements in the span of 4 months, has no clue what game development is like.

For the most part when you make a demo its not likely using the latest code as you need it to be stable and you need to have a cutoff for anything that can break it. I have no doubt its going to see a lot more polished by the time we see it again.

This, probably.
Why would they miss launching their console before Black Friday? Don't they sell millions then?
Wait Black Friday isn't happening this year? :messenger_hushed: If not, then maybe lol.

Prob just a placeholder. They need to start their campaign but can't give an exact date because MS waiting patiently for Sony.

But God does next gen seem much further away when you define it with days and not months!

Would prefer early November honestly, They could take all the time they need for this one.
No. There's no way they would release AFTER Black Friday.
im getting more and more convinced that Black Friday is getting curbed this year due to covid. Store like walmart and target are actually closed for thanksgiving (which is usually the day BF sales start)

digital sales or walmart pickup however is a different story.

I thought all microsoft and sony console releases have always been in november. Halo Infinite is a launch title.

I don't believe Monster's diabetes in a can.

The last two PlayStations were, but 1 and 2 launched in September and October respectively. (Granted there was a huge lag between Japanese and western release for the first two systems as well) Xbox however has definitely been a November system.

Ah i see. Thanks for clearing that up. I feel if PS5 released in september we would have price and pre orders up by now. Good to know about xbox. I'll be getting both. at launch.

glad to see another concerned citizen of Gaf voicing his opinion.

I love how Halo panders to the most healthiest demographics like Doritos, Mountain Dew and now Monster.

This isn't new to gaming, hell this isn't even new to halo. Games getting tie-in deals with energy drinks, chips and pop was popularized in 2007 by halo 3 and MTN Dew Gamefuel.
