it seems famitsu this week has report about Dig Dug DS
I hope the new version is better than the remix version than Dig Dug in PSP Namco Museum
does Namco want to remix all the old titles and sell them all independently on DS? :lol

Nothing in the actual text. Just classic gameplay mixed with a 3D overworld has me thinking the game will be more than just Dig DUg.

Oli, it's a 2D/3D Dig Dug that looks to be done right on a portable with a decent amount of power.

DigDug is so basic, though. I can't imagine paying 30 for a dual screen version when I have a couple versions currently that play just fine.

Mr. Driller originally was Dig Dug -- a puzzler called DigAttack starring Taizou himself:

It went through a few rounds of revisions and briefly starred a substance-abusing/sleep-deprived blue-nosed bear with what appears to be a plunger-pistol:

before expanding the Hori lineage with Susumu, Taizou's son.

PS -- Digging Strike is too hott for words.

So the parts above ground are Dig Dug II and the parts below the ground are Dig Dug... that seems to be what Famitsu says. You can also collect parts and build new weapons and there's a bonus mode called "Hori Susumu Time!". It looks pretty cool anyway. You reckon it's made by Project Driller?

Looking at these shots again just reminds me how desperately I'd love to see a DS Mole Mania sequel. I mean the hardware's practically BEGGING for it. They could call it Mole Mania: Diabolical Sharecropper or something and have all kindsa touchpad digging/mole-baby minigames.

Who do I have to get on the horn to make it so?
