Btw, I saw this post on the purple forum. Apparently the game will support 60 fps on PS5 and presumably on Xbox Series X as well.

Previews for Time Stranger are coming out and there are a lot of glowing impressions and we've had a few people on this site that were part of the previews or played the PAX Demo that have said it was 60 and even Karn-EX commented that it was playing at 60FPS on a base PS5, so an overall update from the older demo builds.

Happy to see they were able to hit 4k60FPS, but really weird they didn't come out and say it officially yet but posted the 30FPS chart for consoles.

Edit: Just skimmed through the Pushsquare preview and they're confirming the same thing.

As someone who hasn't interacted with the series in decades, we really loved some of the designs. One neat touch is that all of the 'Mon have sprite-based Digivice alternatives in the main menu, which is a wonderful visual flourish.

There also appears to be a simplified version of the Digimon Trading Card Game available as a minigame in specific spots here, and again there's some gorgeous virtual card art for you to appreciate. Overall, we really like the presentation in this title, running on a base PS5 at a steady-ish 60fps.

The battles definitely get much more exciting and complicated once you've got a full team. You can send three Digimon out onto the field, and you'll pair them with a fourth guest Digimon who'll join you as part of the story. You can then put a further three in reserve, and freely swap them in at any time.

30 fps on PS5 and type A/B is a easy skip for me.

Thats a shame. I love Digimon, but also have standarts.

edit: I just hope this game is not getting praise previews for the wrong reasons, aka western localization. Would destroy my interess of the franchise in the future.

Isn't it 60fps on PS5? Haven't messed with the series since the PS4 JRPG release.

Good news. It never really made sense given the type of game. Probably an oversight or budgetary constraint which they took care of after the outcry which they didn't expect.

Article:
Strategic Turn-Based Battles
Enjoy dynamic turn-based combat that combines strategic elements with evolved battle components. More than 450 Digimon and deep customization options provide limitless ways to approach the challenges of battle and reveal the strength of the bonds formed with your Digimon.

Thanks, good to know. Won't be something for me, but I'll still try the demo of course.

Game looks awesome except for the woke body type shit

I'm coming off of finishing two really long JRPGs (Dragon Quest VII 3DS and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth) and really don't want to play another JRPG for a while, but so much love and care has gone into this game that I am going to pick it up at launch.

The demo at least seems to be 30fps on PS5 pro with no other options. I even noticed some either framerate or framepacing issues on occasion. Who knows how old the build is and what the plan is for the final build, the mystery remains for now. I personally don't mind 30 that much for this type of game and I'm also not on an OLED, but it'd still be nice to have 60.

On PS5pro I would demand 60fps. No excuses.

I saw the demo and there is nothing there to justify. This is lazy territory.

Just finished playing the demo on PC. The very beginning felt very lifeless with no music or very little of playing but it shortly gets better as you keep going. Gameplay felt like latter Persona games with how fluid battles were and getting in and out of them which is a plus considering how jrpgs tend to feel sluggish to play. Didnt open an fps counter since it never felt like performance was going wrong after setting options to 4k/high on a 4070 but theres no upscaling option like dlss unless i missed it but it didnt seem necessary from what i saw. Demo actually made me go from whatever to probably getting it at launch.

Hurts my brain jumping from Granblue Fantasy Relink at 60fps to this Digimon 30fps...

There is something wrong with sound effect, most of them are non existence or out of sync.

Ultrawide supported, even in cutscenes. Japanese devs are learning!

Two other quick notes: 1) My PC real-time monitors basically reported like my system was idle whilst running this game. 2) Boob physics applied to main character if you pick the female.

Definitely buying this on Steam.
