So, software Lumen stinks less. Or at least should.No. Cryengine uses Voxelization. UE5 uses Signed Distance Fields.
SDFs are closer to normal RT.
SSR is also software RT on a technical level, it's still not really what people mean when they say RT.
also doesn't SVOGI technically use conetracing?
It's software based ray tracing used for global illumination, but don't take my word for it:

And yeah, it looks pretty stunning in KCD2. Hell, it still looks great in the first game.
Sorry replied to wrong postI played it on the pro so framerate was pretty steady. Just stuttering around every corner.
I'm confused, are you saying Arc raiders has crap IQ ? as I play on PC and on PS5 Pro and it's not bad IQ on the pro, yeah its not PC quality but hey its hard to match a 9800X3D and 9070XT without either a 5080 or 5090 ?If they wanted to make game with horrendous IQ on PS5/XSX and PS5 Pro, with no lighting on Series S - they delivered!

Specifically talking about lighting though and it's showing its age in that regard. I can't imagine anyone wants to go back to baked lighting, it just doesn't look right most of the time.RDR2 still looks phenomenal and it was from 2018.
Yeah, seems you can take the engine and just drop Nanite and Lumens which seems sensible given the crap that is being turned out and produce a very solid game across multiple platformsSorry, I misread your post.
You are completely right about AR. They used elements of UE5 that suited them.
Most devs just use all expensive features and end up with 720p games and bad performance.

Which is why the "enhanced edition" with RTGI is coming. Someday. Soonish.Specifically talking about lighting though and it's showing its age in that regard. I can't imagine anyone wants to go back to baked lighting, it just doesn't look right most of the time.
Same people said UE5 was an over-bloated mess at one time as well. You were told it was an underpowered Pro model.
You were told it was an underpowered Pro model.ps6 cant come soon enough if even ps5pr0 is below 800p here![]()
Why does UE5 suck so much ass?
Why has like 90% of the industry decided "yes, this horrendous piece of shit that we cannot optimize is what we want?"
I take baked lighting +stable 60fps and a higher base resolution over this RT shit any day of the week.Specifically talking about lighting though and it's showing its age in that regard. I can't imagine anyone wants to go back to baked lighting, it just doesn't look right most of the time.

Even 160W ps6 on 3nm with proper rdna5 gpu and zen5 cpu will be still 2,5x+ faster from base ps5 even if it comes to raster, ad on top much better ai and rt capabilities and it should still be solid deal for 999$.You were told it was an underpowered Pro model.
Lumen is only really boily and noisy when paired with a bad upscaling solution though ...when it's done right it looks gloriousso instead of baked lighting you want completely unstable, constantly boiling, constantly ghosting lighting?
why?
I take literal PS2 quality baked GI over Lumen any day
Lumen is only really boily and noisy when paired with a bad upscaling solution though ...when it's done right it looks glorious
Rt lighting is always better than baked lighting when done competently
Did you just get out of jail or something? Why did you bump so many old DF threads today?Lumen is only really boily and noisy when paired with a bad upscaling solution though ...when it's done right it looks glorious
