Disney+ European Launch Date Brought Forward, Pricing Revealed

The Disney+ European launch date has been brought forward by a week to March 24. The studio has also confirmed pricing of £5.99/€6.99 ($8) per month, or £59.99/€69.99 for an annual subscription.

The service will be available on that date in UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland. Additional Western Europe markets, including Belgium, the Nordics, and Portugal, will follow in summer 2020.

So I have to wait till summer when it comes here in Finland. I was really looking forward watching The Mandalorian soon. :messenger_unamused:

Got excited for a sec, but 1 week ain't much earlier. Oh well just two months to go to try it out for a month, then cancel till the fall I guess.

£5.99 is nice but I just dunno if I want/need another streaming platform. I guess I'll probably get it because fuck it. But I can't say I've felt too left out by the delay in it coming over here.

1 measly week forward for 8 countries, literally nothing.

Months later for all the other european countries. Huge upsetting delay actually, if you were looking forward for this coming in a couple of a months.

Disney's PR spin: "WOW how great are we that we managed to bring this earlier to europe"

It particularly bothers me because I could get the service from 2 different countries and both are delayed to Summer. This is a delay. Fuck Disney.

Curious when they release it to you if they'll give you all episodes at once or spread them out on a weekly basis like they did in USA
Won't it be like Netflix where you can switch regions and get access to stuff that's normally not available locally? >.>

For Mandalorian they were releasing a new episode every Friday, but since it's already out I would think they wouldn't feed it to you on a weekly basis and let you binge like I'd rather do.

We live in a global world, we talk to people all around the world instantaneously, many of us on a daily basis.
We have companies trade goods from all over the world, I can order a package from Canada and have it shipped to Sweden within days. I can travel to the other side of the world in half a day.

BUT WHY THE FUCK IS IT THAT IN 2020 MOVIES, SERIES, GAMES, STREAMING-SERVICES CANT LAUNCH GLOBALLY!

Its fucking retarded, no.. its BEYOND retarded.
I understand that there's laws in certain countries that takes a bit longer, but its not like its fucking news for Disney HQ to suddenly "oh wait, we have a streaming-service launching tomorrow, how did that happen? Did anyone check with the nordic countries to see if its ok to launch tehre? no? Oh shoot, well, they can have it in 5 months, it's no big deal."

And then they sit there sobbing that someone pirated their new series and wonder how it happend.
