And even after 6 years, I never knew that there wasnt an s on Shoulders. :lol It's certainly their worst album (although it does have a couple great tracks).

I think Noel saw the Isaac Newton quote on a two quid piece, and wrote it down on a cigarette pack while he was drunk. I remember reading something like that.

The one mildly interesting feature of this story is the misleading thread title...was that the headline as well?
Misleading? It's accurate. She [Disney's film production president] talked to her boss in the delivery room. There she found out that she was fired.

Except a woman in the delivery room implies she is the one giving birth. So you made it seem like she was about to give birth and was fired, which is much more cold-blooded then it really is.

That's because people jumped to conclusions and assumed that Jacobson was the pregnant one.
1. Lesbian relationships are hardly anything new.
2. Lesbians using IVF isn't new.
3. The pregnant woman isn't the only person in the delivery room.

THE SURGEON WAS HIS MOM

Umm, how did I indicate it prevents her from having an emotional connection to the kid? All I'm saying, is that until the child is born and she assumes a paternal/maternal role, the baby isn't any more hers than it is mine. She's contributed nothing biologically to it (unless they used one of her eggs to boot and had the other mother carry it so everyone could be involved).

I can see your point Meier and I'm a dirty liberal.

The least she could have done was lie down next to her partner and let the doctor dip the baby's head in a time or two.

What the...

Don't get me wrong, I am all for lesbian relationships, and any couple of any lifestyle having kids as long as they are good parents but...I think it is safe to say most people will assume this woman was giving birth. Thread title is misleading.

Who out there opened the thread and did not have that picture in their head?

Also, it seems to imply she was fired in cold blood out of the blue...when in fact she called them, and she was offered a job in a different department and she turned them down.

Title implies EVIL DISNEY when that simply is not the case on any level in my opinion.

nyahhhh

edit: Wow I just reread my first sentence up there...my only excuse is it is ****ing hot here today. :lol

edit 2: Even if the title had pointed out she was a lesbian I still would have assumed she was in labor.

"I begged to see her face to face and she wanted to talk to me right then. This was not what anybody wanted."

Maybe you should read the whole article next?

Cook called Jacobson a "good friend, great colleague and tireless worker." Acknowledging that the timing was bad, Cook said, "I begged to see her face to face and she wanted to talk to me right then. This was not what anybody wanted."

eh, He tried to do it the right way and she wanted an answer now when she was at the hospital which seems a bit off.

That's right--they assumed. Incorrectly.

How does it imply evil Disney? These things have been imagined by you--there is absolutely nothing in the title that supports your fantasy. Heck, from the information that the title tells me, I can imagine that she received a telegram from Paris Hilton, her new boss, telling her that she was fired. And then the staff break out into dance.

These things happen. There's an acronym for this: RTFA.
