Disney Still Planning R-Rated “Deadpool”

Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed that the studio won’t interfere when it comes to the R rated properties they will gain as part of the 20th Century Fox acquisition.

Iger says the success of the “Deadpool” films are a great example and: “We’re going to continue in that business, and there might be room for more of that.”

Iger adds they will have to be careful in their branding of the films, and make sure they are properly marketed as being R.

Good.

I think I’m the minority who likes DP2 more than DP1, and I loved them both.

Keep the Deadpool train rolling!

Then I’m part of the minority as well. But Deadpool one didn’t click with me at all so I didn’t want to watch dead pool 2 at all. Still went with friends and had a blast. Dunno why but DP2 hit all the right strings for me. Wasn’t laughing that hard in the cinema for a while.

Hope his words are true.

Both had Morena Baccarin.

Morena.
Baccarin.

It is therefore impossible for either of them to be less than awesome.

Could they do that? They are still sticking to the current x men movie canon where wolverine dies right? Or are they going to reboot eveeything to fit into the larger MCU?
They could just set it in whatever year they wanted. Way before Wolverine dies. I don't think they'd be taking the canon overly seriously for a movie like this anyway. I have read that Ryan Reynolds has been begging Hugh Jackman to do it but who knows if that's true.

Really hope WB can bring Freakazoid back and turn it into a movie. After all, the Deadpool you know is a rip off, he was a completely different character before Freakazoid show premiered.

So that’s great and all but...

I need a Deadpool and Punisher and Killmonger team up movie.

With Jordan, Reynolds, and Bernthal

Just give us Deadpool vs Wolverine.
Wouldn't be Hugh Jackman though as Feige said he would look for a new actor. Even though Hugh said he would be fine playing as Wolverine again in the MCU.. I do hope for an X-Force movie and that we see more of X-23

First one was decent, second one was terrible.

Just let it die.

Ryan Reynolds Deadpool could be brought over to MCU referencing everything fourth wall and still be great. Reboot all the other shit including wolverine and reference how that isn’t his wolverine.

They would be crazy to use Fox's continuity for MCU X-Men. Just have Deadpool reference it in an obvious joke at some point in the movie and move on from there.

Don't care about deadpool, they're fun movies

But this news give me hope for a far superior MC film, and thats an R-rated Blade movie, and not some BS 12a shit show

Hmmmm.

There’s R Rated... and then there’s R RATED.

I look forward to Deadpool 3... featuring three uses of the word fuck, absolutely no gore or nudity, and a nice, careful story that pleases the Disney big wigs.

You do realise that an R rating doesn't mean a movie is automatically amazing right? As a recent example, did you see the shit show that is Hellboy?
And if you are going to use Joker as an example, kids in Australia are allowed to watch that film, it's not an adults only film here.

In America, you could make Winter Soldier the exact same film but by adding two usages of the word "fuck" it automatically becomes R rated.
The MPAA is the problem, not the movies that Marvel Studios are making. If the MPAAs guidelines were similar to the OFLC in Australia, PG13 movies in America could have more "adult" themes without a problem. The MPAAs system is beyond retarded.

D2 was already mediocre, now that Disney got its hands on the franchise it's gonna be a disaster of epic proportions.

Deadpool in the MCU is great news.

I know he's getting old and its time to move on, but come on Disney. Just get us HJ to play Wolverine one more time, or 5. Deadpool and Wolverine done right!

Disney used to market it's mature content with companies that it owned right like Touchstone?

Why don't they just do that again?

In this case don't mention the word Disney on mature films, keep 20th century fox or whatever.
