So, because the GG threads each hit 20k posts, and because every time Fem Freq updates an eleventy thousand post thread is created - I think it is understood that this is an important topic that should be discussed on a regular basis, and not as a reaction to "terrible news event" of the time.

So, some fun links

Fairly important breakdown of Gamergate from GG Thread 2

GG Thread #2: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=918685

http://www.feministfrequency.com/ - I believe the main site for Feminist Frequency; Anita Sarkeesian's feminist oriented critiques of video games (these are feminist oriented, so if you're wondering why X aspect of a game wasn't covered, note that these are for issues related to modern feminism, not all aspects of a game).

I'll add more to the first post when I get home; short on time, alas.

Rough idea being that this thread is where people can talk about issues related to Diversity in gaming and in media, as well as some of the issues facing those advocating for more diversity in video games.

I agree that this is an important topic to discuss. I also would like to see some more of a positive focus than one discussing the awfulness of things like Gamergate. For instance, the Animex International Festival of Animation and Computer Games will be hosting a talk on diversity and inclusiveness in the gaming industry. It will feature game developers from both independent and larger studios. It's kinda flown under the radar (as these topics unfortunately often do) so I try to bring a little more attention to them.

Thanks for the link, Noblesse. I'd have missed that otherwise =) Sounds quite interesting indeed, time to read up on it!

(and not get it confused with the German Animexx!)
