JPN Release 02-17-2005 ROCK THE HEAVENS

I'm sure the game is gonna be fun and cool to watch, but boy oh boy is the PS2 showing its age!

I agree...After playing the demo DMC3 is my most awaited game. Tons of style, awesome soundtrack and the cutescenes simply rock...Capcom has done an excellent job, this game will feature what DMC fans have been waiting for. Just one flaw and that's the fact that the DMC3 demo levels were nearer to the DMC2 style than to the DMC gothic style...I would like to see again the first kind of levels.

Easy Fido....

Capcom always seems to somehow make screenshots look worse than the actual game.

DMC3 looks terrific in motion, and it plays very well too.

I really like the art design. And the atmosphere should be another strength again.

How's the level design (structurally - like, do they exploit the wall jump well)? Any gameplay improvements?

Sadly it's coming out very in the year so it will be all but forgotten by the time GOTY stuff happens much like what happened with LoZ:WW. :(

But whatever this game don't need awards to make me buy it! I want it now!

Well, the level design in terms of art (so far in the demo) is similar to DMC2. Do you remember DMC2 city ? In the demo you basically run through a city, then enter in a strip-tease bar and then the action begins.
It's nothing like the gothic ambient that was present in DMC...At least so far.

In the bar there is a stripper-stick...It's cool because you can interact with it and do special moves.

In fact DMC2 levels weren't that bad...what killed the whole experience was the lack of challenge (IMO). If you just forgive about the missile-launcher the game still had its moments.

I like how the screens are so clean and sharp because we know DMC's visuals look just like that

Well, DMC is not, but DMC3 is like that (and the pics are resized to 480x360).

According to Gamefront: JPN release is 17 february 2005, PAL release is 24 march 2005. Game supports Dolby Digital 5.1.

With each passing month, I grow more and more convinced that DMC3 will meet the same fate (sales-wise) as Onimusha 3. :(

Well... Onimusha 3 deserved to sell if for the FMV intro alone (ROBOT ROCKS!!!). DMC3 will have a huge hurdle to sumount (and its called disappointed DMC2 owners). We'll see... if the reviews are great for this and they make it less missiony. Sales +1
