I know that some to do it to hotmail, but what about gmail? I've been applying for some jobs, and I'm getting a bit afraid that the e-mails didn't go through because they blocked out gmail or something. Do you think that's the case or do I just suck?

The sites are blocked to people at the company that want to receive email through those sources (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc), but if you're just sending from it to a company email address, it should go through.

I see, I hope so because I haven't been getting any replies which is sort of odd, maybe they just don't like my resume. :p

every company has an e-mail where people are supposed to apply for jobs and they never lock e-mails out of that. Doing so would be insanely stupid. It's a pain to go through it and filter all the junk e-mail, but they don't want to miss qualified applicants.

Might wanna also make sure that your emails are plain text, not HTML.
Some filters sift out the HTML emails...

Wait, are you using company email to do your job searching? It might not matter (who knows how carefully corporate America monitors emails these days), but still, I always prefer to use a private account.

[edit] Never mind. You're using gmail to mail people. Haha, I'm stupid.

Also, post your resume and we'll critique it for you.
