Do people eat chicken hearts in your country?

All the time, I love organ meats in general.I've pretty much eaten everything on most domestic farm animals.

My dude right here.
Loves me some chicken gizzards and hearts, paired with some rice.
At some point I realized I could get them cheaper and fresh at Vietnamese supermarkets and it opened a whole new world a organ meats to try. Did you know you can buy chicken uteri by the pound? Can make a killer stew if you've got the time. Adobo is also an amazing, simple dish.

It's becoming quite hard to find over here actually, while gizzards are commonly sold everywhere. I love chicken hearts, it's firm and tasty meat, already shaped into small mouthfuls. Great cooked in red wine and onions.
Unlike other internal organs, the heart is pure muscle, so it's not that different than regular meat (beef heart is great too). I can understand that kidney or liver are more of an acquired taste.

Chicken hearts and liver are ok. My mom used to do them sometimes back in the day. Didn't particulary love it tho.

What's really rad is cow tongue! Just with a bit of salt and mustard. YUMMY.

Nah, cow tongue is best served with tomato sauce, capers and pickles. *yum*
(I actually have a box of pre-cooked tongue in my fridge, ready to be eaten later this week :) )

It's pretty common 'round here. It gives me nausea.

Same with cow's liver, absolutely disgusting.
Good point Pork.

Brazil actually eats the whole chicken heart production. It's the only chicken part that doesn't get exported.

I personally hate it as well. The smell is awful and the texture is rubber-like.

Yes.

But I'm Brazilian too so I don't think this helps your inquiry.

What the hell, first worlders don't eat chicken hearts?! Dudes don't know what they are losing.

If you want to make bone broth, but don't want to simmer a stock pot for 48 hours, chicken feet are your friends. A pressure cooker will extract all the flavor and health-benefits from bones over the course of 4 hours, but not the collagen present in the bones. A hand full of clean, trimmed chicken feet will provide the collagen that will convert to gelatine, as chicken feet are virtually nothing but collagen.

I love bone broth for sauce bases, but it's delicious just to drink hot with a pinch of salt.

Yes, delicious with some butter and garlic. Also lamb brain is good. Liver, gizzards, cow tongue. What do you want, I'm from the Balkans, we use the ENTIRE animal.
