Over the past few years I've become really bored with the MSM nature of the internet. Put simply, it feels like too many websites create news just so that they can continue to drive traffic. In addition to the proliferation of social media, there's something insincere and often tedious about the news/views which get pushed to the front of everybody's digest.
I've noticed that whenever I stumble across blogs -- which isn't often but does happen -- there's something much nicer about them. They're mostly imperfect but represent a part of the internet that used to be very normal. Used to feel real for lack of a better term. It could be nostalgia talking but I think it's great when people represent themselves.
Obviously YouTube exists so I'm sure this'll be a popular one. Personally I haven't gotten into it much as I still much prefer reading.
