Do you think there will be Metal Gear Solid 6?

To my understanding, its suppose to be for both. As in the roman numeral for 5
Oh i know, that's why I said not "really". It can function as a 5 sure but we know from Kojima that Peace Walker is considered a mainline entry(obviously since Ground Zeroes and PP pick up after the events of that) which would actually make PW the 5th in series.

V as a 5 is more used for marketing purposses but I'm sure in reality it stands more for Venom than as a numbered sequel since it wouldn't make much sense anyway with Peace Walker precedding it. That's just my theory ofc.

It depends.

Konami seem to be copying Capcoms resident evil business model so far with Silent Hill. That being you remake a classic game then you follow it up with something new to the series (re3 then re8 or silent hill 2 remake then silent hill f)

This way you can have two games in the works at the same time. Metal Gear Solid Delta and then another "new" or spinoff mgs game.

We shall all see however.

Only remakes, which i would be happy with.

Without Kojima, you can't have new MGS stories.

Hopefully Delta sells well so they remake MGS1 and 2 or even make MG1 & 2 into modern games.

I think they should remake Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake on unreal engine 5 with David Hayter writing the script and starring in it, along with Kiefer Sutherland as big boss

I kinda get what he means, TPP has the best gameplay and stealth mechanics and still hasnt been beaten.

The story however is the weakest of all MGS games, also the only game i've ever played that ended with concept art.

If MGS Delta ends up doing well Konami will be busy on Remakes for the next 2 decades or so.
Therefore I don't think there is a sequel even in sight.

That said, the story should have ended with MGS1. Everything Kojima worte after did more harm than good to the overall plot (- The Boss, she was cool).

I would say yes.
There has to be some game designer out there who is a fan of the franchise - who wants to do it justice and continue it.
Kojima wont be around forever.
Someone will pick up the franchise - one day.

I think so- especially with all this stuff being remastered.
Assuming its all successful/cash cow- for sure. Though im not sure how this would look without Kojima/Shinkawa and their uniqueness in both areas.

Agreed. I love Kojima, but the series can and should continue without him. New devs doesn't automatically mean it would be ass.

The alternative is just too sad. MGS needs to continue in some capacity. MercurySteam put out one of the best Metroid games of all time, for example. Obsidian made the best Fallout game of all time (not to mention Bethesda putting that series on the map after the first couple). Arkane's Prey was better than the original, period.

Of course, you also have examples of new devs ruining a series like 343 and Halo, or EA and Battlefront. Only one way to know which way it'll go.

Not soon enough.

I think they should try to "complete" MGSV Chapter 3 through the Master Collections. Either with Kojika through a contract or internally.

Then, they also should have him at least provide the script for the WW2 Boss game he talked about in the past.

I believe that MGS ends with MGS4, even Rising is not cannon for me.
They should not move the story forward after that.
They can fill in gaps though, with Big Boss and Solid Snake.

I love the series, i truly love it and i don't want it to die, but i also don't want it to be milked.

They could do a spin off like Metal Gear Rising...but without Kojima it won't be the same...hell without the original team from Part 1-4 it won't be the same, as Metal Gear 5 for me was the worst of the lot....too barren for my liking...in the way of a tight plot..

awful story that is downright nonsensical.
Very repetitive missions.
motherbase that is barren and the whole idea of expanding motherbase is completely pointless.
Fox engine being unable to handle more than 12 enemies at once.
Laughably dumb AI.
