DOA4 >>>>> SC3

I've played Tekken since the first.

Absolutely loved the 3rd one. Was expecting more with Tag. Hated 4. Absolutely loving the 5th one.

Tekken 5 is the correct evolution to the series.
and i don't doubt that you like it, yet many hardcore tekken players will disagree and point to 3 or tag being the 'best of show'

With all the countless threads on which fighters are the best you would think that the golden age of fighters is just around the corner. :D

I really think companies need to take advantage of these online networks on consoles and hold public beta tests to remove as much bugs or exploits from a game before launch. There is nothing like the rush of playing a well balanced, fun, intense, fighting game against people.

Fighting games FTW.

I don't understand people...

Every fighting game made has flaws, glitches, or is broken somewhere. If you are a good fighter however, it doesn't matter. Most tournaments, good ones atleast, will have rules laid out on what you can and can't do. And most good fighters will know the counters anyway.

And stop being a pussy just because SC3 didn't come to the Xbox.

*Fuck, I'll say it if other won't*

Xbot "Is SC3 going coming to Xbox? I hope so cause it's going to be awesome!"

Me "No"

Xbot "What? SC3 is a pile of shit, it would have looked and played 10x better on Xbox"

Me "No it wouldn't. DOAU doesn't even have motion blur, or fur shading. What makes you think it would magically be able to do it with SC3?"

Xbot "Whatever man, Xbox is the best console in the world. It's like 10x as powerful as the POS2 and it has LIVE."

Me "Well, you do know the game wouldn't have looked any better, if as good right? And if they put SC3 in the arcades then having the game online at home would really hurt arcade sales don't you think?"

Xbot "STFU Noob. They made DOAU online why not SC or Tekken? I'll tell you why because POS2 is too weak to do online."

Me "Real bright Einstein! I guess I imagined Socom then. By the way, DOA isn't in the arcades so making it console only online won't hurt anything."

Xbot "Whatever man, Soul Calibur 3 is crap, buggy, and broken anyway."

Me "Ok, then why do you even care if the game is online or on the Xbox?"

Xbot "STFU fanboy, DOA4 blows away that steaming pile of $hit called SC3."

Me "Hey did you hear? An updated version of SC3 might come to 360!"

Xbot "OMG that is going to be so awesome! I love Soul Calibur 3!"

^^ Uh, this has nothing to do with SC3 not being on Xbox. The only people making a point out of that are people like you. Does anyone even give a shit about PS2 vs. Xbox anymore? It's irrelevant.

Wrong. Even TN said they're looking into the online lag problems. It's not my internet connection, because my connection is great and I've -NEVER- had lag problems on Xbox Live before.

.. Other than DOA Ultimate of course.

Fighting games are not the same as an online FPS. With things like prediction an FPS game can be playable with 150ms ping, or sometimes even more. But that same ping would be unplayable with a game like DOA.

If only the ocasional game is lagging for you that's normal (for me only about 1 in 10 has noticable lag), because not everyone you play against is going to have the same quality connection you have. But if the majority of games are lagging for you it is your connection. How well your other games play is irrelevant. Until more developers support online fighting games (cough, Namco, cough), you can't really criticize DOA's netcode.

Uh no, I certainly can. It's a well known problem than TONS of people have and I'd like it to work better.

So yeah, I can criticize.

I don't see the problem. All my matches today were completly lag free.

Maybe it was cause it was during the morning? Not sure.

Plus lag battles are actually kind of fun in a different kind of way.

The only hardcore Tekken players I've ever seen prefer 3 or tag over 5 are the ones who abused True Ogre, Bruce, and the Changs in those games. And maybe some old Lei players too. Basically anyone who used someone who got toned down or nerfed altogether. That happens with all fighting games though. The vast majority of hardcore Tekken players prefer 5.

You'll be doing even more criticizing when more fighting games go online and you realize that every fighting game is going to have a lot more lag problems than other games.
