Awww. I was expecting a game over (or a surprise Capaldi)

Still though. It's a fun little game.

I was playing it for about 10 minutes before realising I have Zelda! Patiently awaiting An Adventure in Space and Time to go up on iPlayer... The Ultimate Guide was on a few hours after, so hopefully this will be the same deal.

That really was awesome. Almost an educational experience for me at least. Really makes you understand the phenomenon of both Doctor Who and pretty much how the Daleks saved the show.

And, this'll sound stupid, but it suddenly hit home that this show's been on for 50 damn years. That's mind blowing considering it was nearly off the air after one episode.

No, not stupid at all, ive read all those stories of how the show started in wikipedia and other sites, and its really interesting, but it was with this drama where you feel how important was all this for the history of TV.

At least you can talk. Who are you?
Wow, just fantastic. Props to everyone who worked on it and I loved (minor spoilers)
Matt's little bit near the end.

The day is almost here!

Well technically there was a 16 year gap but yes, it's very impressive especially for a show in this genre. Nothing like it in the whole wide world.

There's this beautifully tragic irony to the fact that letting go of this sad, ill old man was what kept the show alive. It's almost a total antithesis to the Doctor Who ethos.

On a lighter note, I really want a cigarette count. That was Mad Men levels of mass-smoking.

Adventure in Space and Time was good but that last 5 minutes was a bit wonky.
Didn't like Reece Shearsmith as Troughton, nor the cameo.

Thinking about it with Susan's actress in An Adventure in Space and Time, they could technically bring her back using that actress. She looks like Susan well enough

Doubt they will but she's a great match regardless.

Angels Take Manhattan would be an absolute classic if the Doctor and River had woken up in that graveyard alone.

As it is... it's still pretty fucking fun. The Angels plan is actually super inventive and it's nice to see a return to the "zap you back in time" Angels we all know and love.

And it leaves Amy and Rory with the distinction of being the only NuWho companions who are actually properly dead. Kinda.

I still don't understand why they didn't end up back in time raising River as their kid in Manhattan. I thought it would have been a perfect closer to their whole loop, and while the Ponds might still be pre-ordained to die, it'd still be... I don't know. Worth it?

Yeah I have a very strong feeling that was intended. I mean, as you say, it makes perfect sense.

Cried terribly at An Adventure in Space & Time. How wonderful. Might be the best little piece of Doctor Who this year, and I'm okay with that.

I'm guessing they cut the bit they filmed of The Three Doctors with Gatiss playing Pertwee? Shame, wanted to see that..!

EDIT: There's a bit of it in the behind the scenes footage on the website!

"During all the years I've been taking care of you, you in return have been taking care of me. You are still my grandchild and always will be. But now, you're a woman too. I want you to belong somewhere, to have roots of your own. With David you will be able to find those roots and live normally like any woman should do. Believe me, my dear, your future lies with David and not with a silly old buffer like me.

One day, I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine. Goodbye, Susan. Goodbye, my dear"

They look like women.

Someone is going to bring back Susan eventually, and I hope they don't cock it up.

Expanded universe stuff alleges she returned home when the Time Lords officially went to war and recalled anybody out in the universe to fight, and thus fried with the rest of 'em. We'll see if they ever decide to upend that and bring her back in-show. It could be fun. Think most modern Who writers would be more likely to use the open hook that is Jenny now, if anything. Sadly. (Though Georgia's gorgeous, don't get me wrong.)

Or they could bring Carol Ann Ford back and regenerate her into a younger incarnation and have her be a companion again.

I can easily see them bringing back some of the Time Lords when it suits them. Susan, Romana, Rani. I would think they're all fair game to possible returns.
