Wonder when we'll get the "Ponds Noir" spin-off.

Good episode, Moffat's patented breakneck pace is always fun. Won't make for a great rewatch, but it definitely was a cool ride. Really liked River's moment of sadness after the Doctor healed her; she hadn't felt this three dimensional in a long while.

Fuuuuck.

I cried.

Good bye Ponds.

You better fucking come back at least for a few seconds during the regeneration though. The Doctor needs to see you one last time with that face.

Seriously going to miss them.

I was waiting for a good starting point to begin Doctor Who after having been interested in it for three or four years. I finally was able to start with the first episode of Season 5. So yes, Matt Smith is "My Doctor" and Amy is my first companion. I feel spoiled to get an incredibly good story writer like Moffat to have introduced me to this world and it's sad to see someone I've known since the beginning go away.

And I feel for the Doctor. Despite what you may say about Donna, it feels like Amy is more of his best friend...she's almost like a sister. Well, she was family...literally...and in his heart. And that's the worst part.

But as I said earlier, she needs to see him one last time before his regeneration. She was there from the beginning, the first face, and she needs to be the one to see him before he leaves. Even if it's young Amy.

I still think there's something dodgy about their grave. IIRC, even the Dalek's called Rory, Pond. And Amy has never been referred to as Amy Williams. Why would they both be Williams on their grave? Amy at least would be a Pond. I might just be clinging on to false hope, but let me cling dammit!

I can see him going back to Amelia for comfort/support with his inevitable next regeneration.

Most def, man. I started with Eccleston's run but I never really continued with it, so Smith has been the one I've stuck with.

One more Amelia. One more Rory. Come along, Ponds!

Its saying that its final. Time has accepted the Williams. Its done.

Donna's the best mate you have a drink and a laugh with, Amy's the little sister you're super close to, joke around with and are protective over, Martha's in the friend zone (and is also I suppose the 'competent' one who goes off and joins UNIT etc), Rose is the ex but-still-special girlfriend, River's the wife. Simple as. It's interesting they've all occupied different spaces more or less so far.

She also wrote the Afterword of the book as Williams. I think it signifies her accepting married life fully and wholly at last.

Amy being "Pond" is Amy clinging onto her adventurous self, while being a "Williams" has her accepting ordinary life.

In The God Complex, the Doctor refers to her as "Amy Williams" to say that she needs to let go. :(

And fucking hell at the end of The God Complex (someone posted it earlier here) with the Doctor saying that the alternative to her staying behind is seeing her name on a grave.

OMG OMG OMG. I just watched it. Amazing. Simply, utterly amazing.

Amelia Pond, the girl who waited, and the Amy Williams, the woman who lived.

Beautiful, heartwrenching and fantastic through and through. I loved every second of this. Best episode of this season without a shadow of a doubt.

Brilliant.

As I see it:

The Doctor is perfectly free to visit Amy and Rory in the 40s if he feels like it, he simply can no longer remove them from the timeline. So 30 years from now when The Doctor goes to 1988 Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill can make a cameo.

The scene at the end when the Doctor as reading Amy's farewell was really good.

Then they showed little Amelia waiting in the garden and smiling when she heard the Tardis.

God damnit Moffat.

That is how you do a ending. Bittersweet, final and keeping with the character arches established throughout. Fantastic use of a call back to the original episode. Me and the wife watching the series together since Smith's run just really drove all the Rory/Amy stuff straight through to the core.

I can't stop gushing. What an amazing episode.

Of course she's sad, her career's about to go the same way as Billie Piper and Freema Agyeman.
lol jk, she's way too attractive and America-friendly to not get work
If her career did go the same way, I would be more than happy to try and cheer her up. :p

At least we have an awesome replacement. It's going to be tough coming after the Pond's.

Karen sounded on the verge of tears at points during that. :( Now I'm sad again...

I thought the same, but I think she had a bit of a cold too :p
They must be sad though; probably the best friendships from a cast of Who since Pat/Frazer/Wendy.

I'm really positive about this trio and suspect we'll see the likes of Big Finish in the many years to come :)
And other 'excuses' just to hang out :D

Karen Gillan's already filming a movie in the US. It's a horror movie, so it's sort of a fine line she's treading between success and obscurity with US audiences. Horror movies tend to be this "test" phase in the movie industry, where an actor/actress either becomes successful and gets more roles, or gets into another horror movie, eventually shrinking into bit roles and vanishing.

Horror movies seem like the easiest gigs for TV actresses to get (Alison Brie did it too) but they're probably the worst ones, too. No-one remembers horror actors- just look at the Saw films. Danny Glover, Tobin Bell, and ughhhhhhhh nope no idea who was in the rest of those seven films

At least Starbuck's in Oculus too, so maybe it'll be a cut above the usual fare.

Agyeman didn't do terribly; a steady Law and Order gig is nothing to sniff at.

Piper has a few more things in the pipeline this year (isn't she doing something with Tennant at some point?), but she had a break to get married and have a kid.

Yep. There's a reason I have no Amy avatar anymore. :(

Neato. I liked Oswin.

She's a cutie, too. Wonder if they'll ever dare do an average looking woman like Donna again. Or try a bro-mance situation.

Either way, that episode just made my day. So happy!

Moffat is the golden boy of the BBC right now.

Maybe he'd be interested in bringing Karen and Arthur back for whatever shows he writes on.

It'll probably never happen but I can dream!!
