You know, yeah, like most people I'm kinda embarrassed just to cut loose at a concert or public gathering. It's obscene, but it's supposed to be obscene. Of course theres the places it's socially acceptable like at a huge rave or a particularly energetic concert, but like crying or any other emotional outburst usually dancing does nothing but cause ire in those around you.

But ohhhh man, when alone, in my house, THERE IS NOTHING BETTER than just cutting loose and giving yourself over completely to the beat and rhthym, and just moving until your muscles give out. It's such a crazy thing, almost spiritual in a way. You gotta go out and do it man if you havent. Just turn the lights out, put the headphones of you have roommates and jesus christ just go for it. It's such an incredible feeling.

All the time. :p

Although I sometimes do a little jig while walking. I just won't do it if people are paying attention to me. >.>

I kind of dance for like 3 seconds in burst when I'm feeling good but I never just am like, "yo Noid... nobody is around... break it down wiff your bad self!" I got better things to do with my time like jack my ding dong, play video games, or read GAF.

Actually I'm a good dancer and I dance when I drink, even in dive bars. But I never just 'dance' for the hell of it at home. Well, I take that back.. I have Dance Central so I guess I do but not w/o the game lol

Of course. Ive been caught too...

edit: that Tina pic is effing scary O_o

All the fucking time. Sometimes in public too. I remember at my prom last year I went crazy. Thriller came on, and everyone knew I was the biggest MJ fan so they formed a circle around me and I danced solo.

But still, dancing alone is really fun. You can just go all out and not worry about anything.

At the ALIVE2007 concert I ran into some poor guy and made him spill his beer. Still feel embarrassed about that.

I don't dance.
Dancing is against a manly man's nature.

Hmm, dancing goes way back, it's very primitive. Tribes with dancing men more manly than you could ever hope to be.

Dancing is a part of many species in their tactics to attract a mate :P

Dude, you can't put MJ on around me and expect me not to dance. Especially not Billie Jean.

I get more paranoid when I'm dancing and/or singing than I do when fapping.

Fapping and I hear a noise? Whatevs.

Dancing and hear a noise? PAUSE MUSIC, HALT MOVEMENT, PUT EAR TO GROUND, WHO WAS THAT, SHIT, I WONDER IF THEY SAW ME SOMEHOW, CRAP.

I suffer from something similar. Not exactly the dancing part since I only do it when thats never a worry, but I totally find myself turning down/off music in the presence of others. I know what its like to be subjected to music you dont want to hear, and i could never put that burden on someone else. Its just common courtesy, imo.

I sometimes burst into some short and quick move and have been caught too a few times. Dont know whether I am good though

Always when I'm home alone, which means that it's unfortunately very rare.

But I also go wild on live concerts, pretty much only situation when there's ton of people around me and I really don't care about them.

Dancing / jumping / headbanging / air-guitaring - I love it :)

I dance like a crazy man at concerts. I paid money for that shit.

Yeah, dancing in public is one the things I'm most insecure about. I just do NOT feel confident doing it. I'll sometimes dance around my partner, but even that makes me self-conscious. So yeah, dancing along in my room is my only option. I usually blast me some X-Ray Spex and just got nuts.

no

what is the point of dancing anyways? what do you have to gain from randomly flailing around like an idiot?

it's such a pointless thing to do

It feels good, man. Like masturbation or overindulgence.

If faceless master uploads a video of himself dancing like a fool for 45 seconds within the next hour I will do the same and GAF can judge who's the bigger idiot. I'm serious, I just don't want to be first. But you have my word faceless master! We can do this dance off!

EDIT: actually i just remembered i dont have imovie installed right now, so scratch that. I'm still down for a danceoff in the future though!

wait second edit: ok i just realized i can up a video my phone no problem, SO DANCEOFF IS STILL ON

It produces endorphins, just like a lot of other strenuous activities, but the fact that the body moves with the rhythm dictated by auditory input also leads to a trance-like state. So you end up being slightly more happy, getting a bit of exercise and experiencing what could be called an alteration of self-awareness and interaction with your surroundings.

Dancing is insofar a good method to mix up your life, in the end, you get experiences out of it you wouldn't make otherwise, and they're mostly of a positive nature, so I would highly recommend spending a bit of time randomly flailing around like an idiot, as long as you're not hitting people in the face, that is.

For the record, I'm a horrible dancer, but I don't care at ALL. I'm already married, so fuck it, I'm gonna get down when I need to.
