Technically. Sign up for a Silver account, and it asks you if you want a complimentary month of Gold. Once it's over, your account reverts to Silver.

If you actually just sign up for Gold in the first place, you're billed immediately and get no free month.

I got a free month. There wasn't a card or anything in the Premium box, but when I went to the XBox live in the dashboard, it told me I was eligible for a free month.

EDIT: Yeah, this happened while I was signing up for silver.

it isn't 1 per system or anything

I had 2 friends sign up for silver on my system and they both got the free trial

When you sign up for silver, what kind of information to they ask you for? Address? Telephone number?

Does it apply to everytime you create a new gamer profile in the 360 background.
