Thats why we needed that video in this forum. It drilled a point in my head. I never really thought about the fur treade till wathcing that video.

Anyways why are people pissed at me, it warned about the video, and im not condoning this stuff.

What I don't understnad is why those people can't put just a little more effort into killing the animal first. Maybe a stab to the back with a sharp object. Why skin it alive, thats just evil.

My understanding has always been that the majority of skinning out there is done when the animal is dead for obvious reasons: not only is it more humane, but there is less risk of injury in the skinning process. I haven't viewed this video, but I can say that very few furs out there are procured from an animal that has been skinned while alive. Whether you are against the act of killing animals for furs alone is another story...

Anyways, I can understand being against fur coats, since that involves killing an animal; but what about 90% of the resrt of the fur trade which consists of fur harvesting for use in yarn? Choosing not to buy clothes which contain cashmere, mohair, angora, etc. is harming what has to be the most humane institution of livestock farming in existence.

Bullets cost money and damaged fur from trying to humanely kill an animal is money lost. So they throw it on the ground to kill it and risk the least amount of damage to the fur. And if that animal doesn't die from the first or second slam... fuck. I had to stop after seeing the dog rise up and flop back down in the wagon.

And you all use products of animals, made for animals, or for which animals have suffered in similar ways, maybe worse. So we should all just respect life. People crying because it's cute furry animals, and not giving a flying fuck about the millions of pigs that die, one of which is in their meal, in some way that's frowned upon.

I'm not against the fact that animals are killed. It happens in the wild and it happens for the mere fact that I want to stuff my face with bacon. But the way in which the animals were killed is just sick. If i saw pigs skinned alive like this I would be appaled too.

I understand but still... the spider you might mercylessly crush with your feet, even if you do not feel any or it's pain (or any other small insignificant living being), couldn't it be even more cruel? What if it suffered much more than those cute Disney furry mammals that everyone was raised up to love?

We cannot ponder these things. So personnally, I prefer to just be respectful of life, in any form.

Meh, who really cares? Top of the food chain. Animals kill each other in the most brutal and horrifying fashion possible. We're animals too. I agree there should be a way to skin animals dead (I didn't watch the video and don't really care), but they're gonna die one way or another. I sure would hate to be skinned alive, but that's why I'm a human and not a furry little animal. I'd much rather people focus their attention on the millions living in poverty and anguish than animals suffering. Like we don't have enough on our plate to begin with. PEACE.

You environmentalist types can never give industry a break. First you complain that they're making animals extinct, then when industry saves a species, like mink or seal, you complain that they're being used for their skin? What gives, man??
