It rocks, it is wroth every single penny of the $80.00 I spent on it. I wondered how its response would be and it is perfect, I have not experienced a snag or stutter once since owning it over the last two weeks. It is VERY ergonomic in its design and the buttons function really well on it. I especially like the application switcher. Also, it seems to work on any surface.. flawlessly. No more mouse pads for me!

If you are in the market for a great mouse then this is it, also it has a sleep mode so not to drain the internal batteries, and a cradle to recharge it.

You can check it out here

Cool. I bought myself a Logitech MX510 Gaming Mouse. I love it.

Very smooth, excellent response time, lots of buttons, and best of all - comfortable.
Mine also has an application switcher. Really unique feature.

Yeah, I'm getting a blue MX510 one of these days.

Right now I'm still using my sacred first gen optical MouseMan Wheel, the one that's all blue with the blue LED on the top behind the Logitech logo. It ownzzzz.

Heh. I was using an IBM IntelliMouse (optical). It was pretty decent, but the scrollwheel had a blue LED inside of it, which got kind of annoying at night. Also, something from the top of my desk fell on top of my poor IntelliMouse, and the left button got busted up. :(

Why anyone would buy a wired mouse with the perfection of the MX1000 I'll never know...

BTW, I get it for $37 through work :)

As of right now, this is my sentiment exactly. This mouse Rox0rs!

Ahhh. My most favorite mouse, ever. I hope it never dies. *knocks on wood*

I guess I made a mistake earlier. It's actually a second gen unit.

Yeah, it was a pretty cool mouse. Blue light, dualshock feedback that was admittedly almost completely useless...but I kept it until the MX510 came out.

I wanted an MX1000, but I read lots of complaints that there is a small delay if you pick up the mouse and put it down again. This would merely be an annoyance in Windows, but it's a deal breaker for FPS games. I pick up my mouse constantly, so for now I'll have to stick with my MX500 unless Logitech can correct this problem somehow.

Error Macro, man, is that the sweetet mouse I've ever used...

It's been about five or six years since I first started using that Logitech MouseMan Wheel Optical. It's got a pleasent glow, I've learned Photoshop with it, Autodesk, done so many research papers, and I've played more games with it than I can count. I love it, and I hope mine never dies. It, besides an ergonomic keyboad, are a major part of my input.

When this thing goes, it'll be the end of an era.

I'm slightly disappointed with my logitech bluetooth keyboard + mouse. a traditional RF mouse seems so much more responsive compared to the set I'm running now.

It's still a very nice looking set however, and it matches with my pc fairly well.

I'm still borderline about getting it. Some ppl have been raving on about it, while others say it's good but not great. For the amount of money it is, i expcet it to be pretty good.
I don't play many games so i'm not too fussed about response time, as long as it's good enough for general windows use i'll be happy with it.

They lie! I dont know what they are refering to, but I have No delay at all with this thing, I can pick it up and usei t off of my finger, it is nuts!!! There is no delay, I pick my mouse up also to reposition it, use it for Photoshop, Illustrator and Maya. Perfection doesnt even begin to describe this mouse!

I was going to get it, but then I realized it was too expensive. Just get the MX510, it's $50. If you are worried about response time, techconnect has a Windows XP USB mouse response time tweaker that you should try. You can get it here... But for me, even when I play UT or HL2, response time is excellent right out of the box. No need for tweaking IMO.

I was thinking about maybe getting an MX 1000 now. The only complaint I've read from reviews and such is that the mouse is a little heavy. Is it really that bad? Or is it no big deal?

It's a bit heavier than my previous mouse, but it's not so heavy that it's too cumbersome to use. It glides across any mousepad, so the weight doesn't make much of a difference. I got mine quite a bit below MSRP, but I'm very happy with it.

Weight. To me cost is not an issue when it comes to my keyboard and mouse. But wireless mice are heavier which increases my chances of problems down the road. I'll stick with my Intellimouse 3.0 until something better comes around.

Okay, so I wanted a mouse for my laptop that I could use for heavy graphics work, and I sprung for the MX 1000 over the 510 simply for the better location of the application switch button.

Anyhow, the thing's been charging for over 12 hours and still only has 1 bar lit... how long is this thing supposed to charge for? I can't find any documentation that details charge time, but this seems ridiculously long for a first charge. What's the deal?

Edit: Nevermind, I seem to have figured it out.

I bought this exact mouse (and color) for my new computer for Valentine's Day.

Yes, I have a platonic love affair with my new computer. :)

I opted for this one over the wireless version due to worries that the wireless one might have precision issues in twitch gaming.

That, and the MX510's blue color is so ridiculously hot. :)

Newegg has 'em pretty cheap too. I think I paid like $40, shipped.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
It's a very nice mouse, but it's just a little to big and heavy for my liking. Plus, I've had bad experiences with my MX700's battery crapping out of me in the middle of LAN gaming marathons and have since switched to the MX510 (took the MX700 to work). I like that the 510 is considerably lighter and incredibly accurate. Plus it costing me about 20 bucks was a big plus. Only thing I wish the MX510 had was the 1000's ability to tilt side to side with the scroll wheel. Ah well. I'll hand it to Logitech, they're always on the bleeding edge of mouse technology.
