Don't Starve is out on the PS4! So, let's talk about it. This is my first time ever playing the game, and I imagine that's true for others, too. I'm new to the game, so I'm not sure what sort of info would be helpful to put in the OP. I'll update with stuff that seems important, though.

I got this installed before the rush and it had a lock sign and said only the content owner can play this. Oh damn. I should have re-activated my PS4 before deleting it and re-downloading... Now I'm on an insane 45 minute wait. Time for Attack on Titan I guess.

I played this on PC when it came out, enough time to unlock all characters, but the game seemed very "empty", i seen everything pretty early (except for the nearly impossible stuff of course).

Is there any depth thats been added since ? What is new on the ps4 version ?

Yeah. Or if you're really wasteful, you can put a carrot in the trap and they'll go for that.

It's like a Harvest Moon rogue-like with a vaguely Edward Gorey-esque art style. Maybe a bit of a twist of old-school Zelda in there.

There's no win condition in survival mode, you just survive as long as you can. Pretty much any objectives you set out to accomplish beyond that are purely self-defined and self-enforced.

The game does have an adventure mode, however, which presents you with a series of scenarios in a random order intended to test your various abilities of survival. That's got a defined victory condition, and for beating it you

A tip for newbies: Don't settle until you reach the 6th or 7th day. It is really tempting to do so but you will experience the drawbacks really soon (especially upon reaching the last days of your 3rd week).

Don't be afraid to die since that's the point of the game. Die, garner knowledge and get wiser in order to survive more days on your next try.

You'll eventually become really good at sustaining yourself and will work towards further goals like researching the latest techs or venturing into the caves and others places.

Also, remember that there's an excellent Wiki for the game, although I would recommend not to spoil any info early on since you will definitely kill the point of the vanilla experience. I didn't Wiki until my obituary reached above 10 deaths, but feel free to approach the game any way you want. If you find the game too obscure, then by all means look up for some info.

There is native Xbox 360 controller support on the PC. Not sure if was there at launch but last time I booted it was there.

I tried it and much prefered it with a KB/M, just easier to click on stuff.. but maybe thats just me.


Its a great game if you like survival stuff.. extremely unforgiving though.
