In life, if you want people to do something or change what they're doing, you aren't going to call them shit (calling people shit in the workplace gets you in trouble/doing so outside of people you know well lends less legitimacy to your criticism). Calling their play bad is different from calling them bad. I'm all for calling out people's mistakes and pointing them out. If they don't listen, that's on them.

Speaking of missed abilities...I wish you could click on the character portrait at the top of the screen to directly target that hero with unit target spells.

I have been playing him a lot more lately, so yeah! Punching the shit out of people in the early laning phase is so amazing. I take out 1/5 of their health per punch and I just charge on in with Living Armor and they can't do shit about it.

Well, most workplaces are extremely oversensitive too, but point taken.
I guess the argument can be made that, theoretically, as the number of players grow, so does the depth of matchmaking. This means that I am more likely to get matched with equally skilled players.

didn't you say one or two weeks ago that you don't watch professional matches or streams? and you're saying you "take playing very seriously"? WHAT
these types of games don't even work with a controller. i don't think you'll ever have a game in this genre using only a touchscreen. it would have to be dumbed down way too much. and considering even the fast matches usually take 10+ min, it's just not the kind of game for a cellphone. what if you have to pause to do something? it just doesn't work
Deny obviously. A lot of people on GAF aren't noobs and are nice.

You know what's bad? When your team is not doing okay but at the same time not doing bad and one mistake can cost you the match, and you are the one that makes that mistake, I made my team lose a compendium match that we were doing great, bad initiation near our 3rd tier = enemy took the tower and the ancient.

I've been watching pro replays pretty much ever since I started playing. I watch as many replays and Dota commentaries as I do actually play these days...so definitely not me!
Didn't like Power threads, I prefer boots of travel. dat movement/scroll.
I see dota 2 does .dems as well, neat. all i need to do is just upload to mediafire.

You don't need to upload the replay anywhere (I'm assuming that's what you're talking about uploading to mediafire), just post the MatchID.

Almost all of your guys' mute problems would be solved by taking some time to find people to play with in the NeoGAF chat or guild, and then trying to play with them consistently. Discuss your games with each other here, especially if it was rough to allow nerves to cool, and go from there. When you play in a 3+ party you will never be muted without AGGRESSIVELY shit talking.
And when it comes to non-automated reviews, or actually any reviews for that matter, of chat/voice reports, I wouldn't hold your breath for the time being. As far as I know the replay system does not record any allied chat at all, voice or text, and it was the intention of Valve not to include these things to both avoid people stroking their epeens by looking at enemy chat from a winning game and avoid people scouting out teams/pros and their communication/emotional tendencies. So without changing the existing replay system most of these offenses that people are being muted for aren't being recorded at all, and can't be reviewed.

I have been playing with bots ever since I got my dota 2 invite. first at easy. then scaled up as I try to learn the game. Zeus was my first hero to give me a win against bots (easy).
I lost a lot afterwards (increasing difficulty) but learned from each defeat. then just the past 3-4 days been finally playing on unfair difficulty. I do not recall a win with Zeus, instead I got all my wins with Sniper or Shadow Fiend. Fond of Sniper atm.
Today I finally decided to take a gander at online. here are my results:
My first game online, 1st blood! Seems Sniper will be my mainstay for the time being. He is ridiculously easy to play with. Gonna try other heroes soon as I get comfortable with them vs bots.
Only got some questions.... is it all downhill from here and how do I upload my matches on youtube?
I'm on it. First time playing dota2 or you have a previous experience on WC3 Dota?
Boots of travel are kinda a last item that you need, except on Tinker. They give no stats to your attributes (besides speed obviously). Power Treads are really needed on carries most of the time.
same I don't know whatsup but I'm pretty sure it's not my net. Streams, VODS, everything on twitch has been insanely laggy for me for the past couple weeks.
Carry usually don't make Boots of travel until they have a complete 6 items gear.
Power thread cost less, make you move faster than simple Boots of Speed, give you attack speed ( which mean more Headshot ( dommage and stun ), more dps.. ) and also more hp ( +8 str ) and mana regen if needed ( +8 int if switched ).
Like JustinBB7 said, except Tinker very few ( none ? ) hero make boots of travel as first boots.

And with regard to the boots discussion, do not undervalue Phase Boots on carries, treads are not the end all. Being able to move around and allow yourself to auto attack is often worth more than being able to auto attack faster. Sniper especially, mobility is his weakness and that boost of speed can mean the difference between life and death.

My problem with reporting is its kind of random. I got muted a while back for just telling someone what they did wrong, not over aggressively. Since then I have been on some insane tirades against people and never been muted since.

Ok this is what I have to say about this match
Early game:
Good:
-Harrasing enemies.
OK:
-2 last hits/3 deny by 2 mins
Bad:
-Sometimes you give priority to deny creeps over last hits.
-Often overstimated your damage, missing some last hits.
-Sometimes autoattacked.
-Carefull with your position, Windrunner could have had easy stuns on you many times, one of those and she and Phantom Assasin would get half of your health in no time.
Early-Mid:
Good:
-Nice use of the Ultimate to get some kills.
Bad:
-Why get Yasha instead of boots?
-Why the buyback?
Mid:
OK:
-Some nice Kill Secures right there! :lol

-Dat Bristle with 200> wins
-Not your fault but: What the hell with that trade. Your team traded a 3rd tier and rax for a enemy 3rd tier?

-In a couple of teamfights, the enemy Witch Doctor used his channeling ultimate, you didn't focus him, your ministun will stop his ultimate, next time focus him.
Overall:
Good. Still need to learn a few things about positioning in fights, but good overall considering the enemy skill. Also, that bristleback carried your team
Never played WC3 dota (warcraft 3?) and as stated, all ive been playing is vs bots since i got the dota2 invite (which was... 2 months ago?). this was my first dota2 match playing online against real peeps. I'm very green to online dota2 so I wanted some opinions on how I play sniper and what I did great/horrid.

I actually thought my positioning was decent but i did wonder why windrunner didn't try to stun me often. I see I need to be more careful. and what u mean autoattack lol ?
wanted to build manta style quickly but my priorities always seem to change as game goes on..... I wanted to get back quickly and I thought it was best coa at the time.

A lot of times I somehow didn't even notice the witch doctor. tis a problem of mine, i tend to not see peeps at times.

Forget mechanicals if you don't like keys that make sound. There are ones that are kind of more silent, but all of them are noticably louder than standard keyboards.
