Publisher Arc System Works and developer Yuke’s have released a new trailer and screenshots for Double Dragon Revive introducing playable characters Marian and Yagyu Ranzo.

Get the latest details below.
Marian (voiced by Abby Trott in English, Sayaka Senbongi in Japanese)

An intelligent woman capable of keeping up her positive attitude no matter how tough the situation.
She lives in the slums with the Lee brothers, operating a bar adjacent to the dojo her father left behind.
She herself also wields the Sosetsuken techniques, specializing in sharp and relentless attacks.

Yagyu Ranzo
(voiced by Howard Wang in English, Yuuichirou Umehara in Japanese)

A descendant of the Yagyu family, protectors of the Dragon Vein, source of the Sosetsuken’s power.
He is a stoic man with strong loyalty to carry out his mission as a ninja.
Thanks to harsh training from a young age, he has mastered ninjutsu passed down through generations.

Double Dragon Revive is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in 2025

Maybe it's because i'm slowly reaching the grandpa "everything used to be better" age, but i still prefer the Double Dragon II NES over this. It just doesn't appeal to me.

Not feeling it. Something about 3d graphics in beat'em ups feels wrong/cheap.
I'll extend that to any 2D/sidescrolling gameplay where it's done as a cost cutting measure. Devs think they’re better off going for cheaper graphics over drawn sprites/frames, but it always brings the entire product down. Mighty No 9 looked bad, Bloodstained looked bad, this looks bad. 3D + sidescrolling = mistake.

Streets of Rage 5 being 3D will be a failure as well, but I'm still playing 4 to this day.

There’s only one example I can think of that I remember being good, and that’s Tekken Force mode in Tekken 3.

I'm not going to rag on the art too much since Gaiden looks like complete ass but it ended up being freaking amazing. If they can work on the speed and the really bad enemy A. I. I think this could be good. I like the focus on using the environment so I'm hoping they pull it off.

I respect the purists' opinions and I enjoy the classic games, but I am totally open to this as well. Nice to see some more characters in the mix. And Marian is easy on the eyes hehe

DD is probably my favorite beat 'em up franchise, and I consider DDA one of the best games in the genre. I skipped on Neon and Gaiden, because the graphics stray too far from the original aesthetic.
The original DD aesthetic took from The Warrors and Fist of the Northstar. Revive captures that vibe quite well, as the enemies and locales look faithful. My only gripe is that Billy & Jimmy really stand out from the other characters and enemies looking too modernized and soft. They should be looking like gritty badasses with Kenshiro vibes. A way to fix it is by adding skins.
Also, I see a faithful Burnov and Willy, it'd be great/funny to see Bolo (Yeung), Abore (Schwarzenegger) and Abobo return as well.

i will for sure grab this bc i expect it to be a fun game. but visually its...not really good. It has that usual Unreal Engine stink to it that i hate.
