Have played dragon age, but I am not a lore lord like with witcher.

But it felt more like a generic anime with dragon age slapped on it, it didn't give me any dragon age vibes.

Wow, modern animation really sucks. I was watching Ninja Scroll the other day, the animation has more craft and style in one scene than several entire seasons of a show like this does. The chromatic aberration + gaussian blur vignette on the flashbacks at the start is just... what's the opposite of chef's kiss? Chef's chocolate rose?

edit - Och, can't leave it like that, its bad for me personally to be fully negative though... uh... the bit with the ring and the blood looks cool?

For a series that was a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate I'm not sure who the target audience is here. Looks very generic.

Gotta love the fake drama.

"People like US aren't supposed to change the world, Kira! I'm yelling so that means what I'm saying is VERY dramatic!"

Doesn't come off as Dragon Age at all.

From the characters, to how they talk to each other, to the action-packed crazy sword-swinging shit, it's not Dragon Age.

Dragon Age is more about political intrigue, it's about history, it's about a conflict between races, and how the fade and its demons are influencing the world. It has a different vibe to it than this.

I've liked the dragon quest and monster hunter movies on net flix… so this can't be that bad… can it?

Whenever I see Netflix attached to any adaptation of a game, I just assume it's gonna be another one of their lazy anime. No enthusiasm from me, because I don't see any enthusiasm from them.

In a post-Castlevania/Arcane world, that's surprising to hear. Most would say those two series are EASILY among the best game adaptations of all time.

Another netflix woman strong, white man bad/goes bad, black man guiding everyone cliched garbage.
True but tbh I'm fine if they would just leave established characters/stories alone. At least put your propaganda in your own art like they're doing here. If the show isn't for me then whatever It doesn't need to be.

A movie about African mythology infused with LGBTQ themes might be new and interesting but black Achilles is just a joke. Unless that's the point like Hamilton or something, but that's already been done now.
