Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Unlikely To Get Crossplay

Ever since Sparking Zero was first revealed, fans have wondered whether it'd launch with crossplay, something that's only been detailed on the Japanese website and barely commented on in the months since. IIGN recently had the chance to speak with Sparking Zero's producer, Jun Furutani, where they asked him whether or not crossplay is going to be supported as they didn't believe it's "currently planned".

In response, Furutani (whose answer appears to have been translated) said that it's "very difficult" to explain and that the short answer is that there's a complicated process the team has to go through in order to have crossplay functionality in the game. This confirms once more that it's not going to be in Sparking Zero at launch, but it sounds like it might not be in at all.

One of those touchy subjects, that's very difficult for him to explain. The short professional answer is, yeah, there's a difficult that we have to go through to get cross play to work. - Jun Furutani

Game has a lot going for it. An incredible roster of 182 fighters (about 80 if you exclude the saiyan/frieza transformations), amazing character models and a solid battle system for an arena fighter.

Pre-orders seem to be going really well and hopefully will receive as much DLC support as Xenoverse 2 did.

But no crossplay is indeed a bummer, as well as a very limited local vs (you can only fight locally in the Room of Spirit and Time).
