Nikki Finke in Los Angeles is reporting that actor Christopher Reeve is dead, according to sources close to the actor. He died suddenly Sunday. News of his death has not been reported publicly yet. His family will make an announcement Monday at the earliest. Reeve was just mentioned Friday in the second live presidential debate by John Kerry. Noting he was a friend of the paralysed Reeve, Kerry said he was in favor of further stem cell research because Reeve could walk again one day thanks to such science.... MORE...

o god i'm an asshole.

He will be missed dearly. And in my eyes he should be layed to rest with the Superman suit and a Superman flag should always fly over him six feet above him.

I think the next Superman should be CG for the simple reason that it tends to mess up the careers of anyone who plays him.

FUCK he was the first guy I ever idolized. EVER. Not an exaggeration.

Now I know how people felt when Rodney Dangerfield and Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra passed on.

Rest in peace good sir.

Fuckkkkkkkkkkkkk :( what a fucking horrible day fuckkkkkkkkkk :(

I love how lefties always bash Drudge even though his site is probably the single best source on the internet for up to date major, and frequently exclusive, news.

As for the topic at hand, I can only think of the Our Lady Peace song.

why do people always put "is dead"? what the hell ever happened to "passed away"?

[quotes Patch Adams scene]
Passed away is a much softer, more pleasant term.
To go even softer, try 'is no longer with us' or 'has gone to a better place'.

I don't believe this shit. Fuck this. I don't believe an ounce of it. No! Just no!

And just as frequently the source for totally dumb and unfounded rumors that get spread because Drudge really has no sense of accountability.

Because "is dead" has more impact and force, and in the pussified nation we live in today, anything to skirt the passive PC language is a good thing.

People die every freaking day.
Yes, but more importantly are the ones who've played major roles in our modern history...this time being damn Christopher Reeve, Rodney Dangerfield, Ray Charles, etc. God rest all their souls. 'Tis a part of life I wish I could turn my back away from...so I guess it's a good time for the rhetoric "that's life"...

:\

This is looking to be more and more real :(

But how did he die so suddenly, I thought he was doing better? I don't see how anyone could've been expecting this....

*crying*

Shit I was holding out hope Drudge was wrong..... :(

RIP, I just was thinking we were going to see him in another episode of Smallville. His episodes were my favorite.

You know no matter whoever plays Superman now, he will always be the person you think of when you think of any film about the man of steel.

You wouldn't believe how many people I knew from the world of acting who hated the man with passion. I've heard tons of stories of him (while he was acting and active of course) doing extremely underhanded, mean-spirited things against others in the field for no justifiable reason (give that he was world famous and all of them absolute nobodys). In fact, when the guy broke his neck, I know of at least two parties that were thrown to "celebrate" the event. Totally crazy...

Personally, I thought he was good. Superman was one thing, but Deathtrap has to be seen to believed. He was an excellent actor, which even his haters could not deny.
