OK, I'm not sure if this is even possible, but I'd like to try using DScaler.

The laptop I am using came standard with an AVerTV 303p capture card. Inputting a game system through s-video using normal TV tuning programs produces mediocre results (dirty image and whatnot). I've seen that DScaler can really clean things up.

The error I get is:

"can't create overlay surface: 88760168"

If there is no way to use DScaler, are they any other similar programs that might help improve picture quality?

I get that error when windows media player or some other media program is running.

Gek is correct. Make sure you're not running anything else in the background that would be using the overlay (media player is one culprit, but you get the same result with some p2p programs.)
