Dune: Awakening sales top one million

Total worldwide sales for open-world survival massively multiplayer online game Dune: Awakening have surpassed one million units, making it Funcom's fastest selling game to date, the company announced.

For comparison, it took one year for Funcom's 2018-released survival game Conan Exiles to reach one million sales.

Dune: Awakening has so far reached a peak of over 189,000 concurrent players, also surpassing Conan Exiles' 54,503 player peak.

I got it and enjoying it. A lot more story heavy than i thought which i really enjoy. In general a big step up from Conan Exiles.

As a huge Dune nerd since my teenage years (hence the hickname lol) I still think that the game is downright sacrelige to the setting and not my cup of spiced coffee in general, but I'm happy for every piece of trans-media that makes the Dune more famous.

Maybe we will get proper Dune RTS or RPG before I hear about my own grandkids, I dunno. Kudos to Funcom for bringing Dune universe to more people. Cheers!
 
Love this game, played it 17 hours since I bought it last Saturday and I'm still barely scratching the surface.

Only downsides for me are that it's sometimes kinda unclear what the "main story path" is (what does the game want me to do), and that there are some absurd difficulty spikes (for example you're clearing a dungeon and it's quite easy but then it dumps you into a closed off room where suddenly 15 enemies swarm you and you can't escape and you lose your backpack - lost 20k Solaris this way yesterday and then just ragequit)
 
little off topic but for you dune fans.....check this out. Should be arriving at my house shortly. Pumped for it. Will need to check this game out although not a RTS guy...

 
There should be a Dune game like Mass Effect, though I guess they would struggle to give as many alien races as Mass Effect did, that being said, the 1992 Dune game was an interesting "concept".....

 
So 189k same as stellar blade....boys, we found our ccu equal to 1 million sales on steam. 189k is the magic number for 1million sales on steam
 
I did my part.

I've only played a few hours but I'm loving it! This is also the first non strategy game I've played on PC so far.

Have your tried the strategy game Dune Spice Wars?
 
Only watched the original Dune movie a few years back but it was pretty cool. Haven't played this game but not surprised to see it doing well since it had lots of CCU, reviews, and ratinga, and still among the top selling chart even around 2 weeks later.
 
How MMO is this game? I don't really have any interest in playing with other people, but I'd love a single player experience.
 
I really didn't enjoy Conan Exiles, but I'm itching to play this because I've been a Dune fan forever.
Is it very much like Conan Exiles?
 
Dune movies were great I would focus on the third film but great that the game is having its moment, a lot of twitch streamers.

So far it's super single player, the only thing you notice really is other people's bases and occasionally someone driving by.

Doesn't feel like an MMO at all in that regard.
 
I totally love this game so far. Its hitting all the right buttons for me.

Got eaten by a Worm on my Sandbike when i newly crafted it. Thought I was god on 3 tracks, worm sayed nope, no god just food.

Decided to read the book. It was surprisingly difficult to follow the whole thing in English. Even saw the movies way before I got the book.
Returned it and I am now reading it in Dutch, instead (native tongue). Much easier to follow now.

You can totally play the game as solo player

Bought it, did the intro. Im liking it. The world and presentation are great. Combat is whatever but I like the slow pace to explore.
 
Game keys are now available for cheaper if someone wants that. I just got a notification from instant gaming that it has DUNE keys for -20%off
