The Dune miniseries 3-disc set (director's cut) is $9.44 at Target this week. Are the additional scenes and extras worth $10 if I already have the first release?

(For the record, I consider David Lynch's Dune to be the definitive film version. The Sci-Fi miniseries is good for what it is, though, and it seems to me that a director's cut might make it better.)

There's a nudie scene. Is that worth it?

Not if the scene involves Baron Harkonnen.

In addition to the nudie scene, the transfer is supposed to be much better on the director's cut. As in, the original transfer was so bad, fan disappointment got them to re-do it. I only have the director's cut, so I can't tell you exactly how much better the new transfer is over the original.

I really enjoyed the mini-series. Does that make me abnormal?


(for the record I thought the original movie was a series of good ideas edited into a jumbled mess)

A little research tells me that the DC is anamorphic (the earlier release isn't). If Artisan fixed the colors as well, that'd be worth it.
