It should be highlighted that he will NOT be serving a sentence in custody, but instead will do two years under house arrest. Now, I don’t want to play that card, but if this was a white man beating a black man to death, he’d be behind bars in a flash. How the hell has this man flat out murdered someone and basically got away with it?

"Two wrongs don't make a right"? God damn, that's an understatement. Yeah, I agree racism is a sad thing, but like it or not, it's speech. I do believe it can be and is harmful, but to take a life over it? I'm thinking this was a straw that broke the camel's back for this guy. He must have been experiencing other issues in his life. Terrible news all around.

His first response was to ask the guy not to call him that word. The punch came after the customer repeated the offense. So he punched the guy one time. It's the fall that killed him. Don't call people racial slurs and maybe they won't sock you in the mouth for it.

Few things from this.

I agree that punching a guy to death for using a word is really over the top. What is shocking is that the manager who beat the old guy isn't even going to prison for it. He's just getting house arrest for murder?!?!

Racism is wrong. Everyone can agree to that. However, unfortunately I can never see it being eradicated. I thought we were getting there in the late 90s and early 00s, but I actually think we've gone backwards since then and the world is more racist.
