Well, I tried the DVD with WinDVD (the fricking Interactual DVD player included with the ANH disc does not recognize the Sound Card [Audigy 9000] as a DirectSound device, fuck InterActual]) and the DVD plays smoothly.

No hiccups or anything... it even loads chapter 26 which would not load on the PlayStation 2.

I bought a DVD lens cleaner for PlayStation 2 and the first time I ran it it would not even recognize the disc (DRE) when reading the cleaning lenses part.

The PlayStation 2 still exhibits the same problem: when you play chapter 25 it will stop either 10 seconds or 20 seconds in and if you try to load chapter 26 (Star Wars DVD: A New Hope) it will give you a DRE without even leaving the DVD menu yet.

What should I do besides crying ?

Simply buy a new one! come on... you know you are gonna make this stretch out so you can a new slimline PsTwo...
