Im new to hd stuff and I recently purchased an Hdtv (Last month) Since then I've been enjoying it the only thing that bugged me was that it only had two components inputs. I was reading another thread that talked about dvi inputs and went to the back of mine to see if it had them. Well it does , which is good but I'm having a hard time finding information on dvd players with this output ( or even finding any period) also is it better/worse that component?

Yes, in theory, DVI will look even better than component. However, the last time I checked, the affordable batch of DVI-equipped DVD players were NOT very good in terms of reliability or features. There may be a better set of options out now, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Also, I was under the impression that not all "DVI interfaces" were the same. Any other experts out there who can clarify?

You can get pretty good DVI output DVD player that also upscales for around $200. I believe there is a recommended Denon player for around $230.
