I have gmail invites coming out of my ass, but somehow I don't think that's going to get me hooked up. :lol :lol :lol

I believe the going rate for gmail invites to E3 guest pass ratio is currently 10,000,000 to 1.

Give or take a couple.....

It seems to change dramatically based on everything from the year and the weather to the lineup and who's working the signup booth. Since every year I hear the admission standards get much higher and lower from different people, I imagine it just depends what day you want to go and how apathetic they are.

Do they still do the random bag checks and metal detector lineup scans? E32K2 was like going to the airport.

Yes. And every single one of those folks never ever played games in their lives. EVER.

I dunno, some years the conference pass is worth it (note: although, I didn't pay for it personally, the company offered). And if I had nothing better to do with my money, the workshop + lunch deal beats the hell out of the food actually served in the building (Mcdonalds being pristine by comparison).

Of course, if you could get a Nintendo entry pass, then you could get free food and save enough money to just buy the conference CD. ;)

How do most of you guys get in?

I'd imagine you all do the free package, but what do you use to say you're involved with the industry? At one point, I know you could make a website about games to get in for free, but I don't know what the standards are today.

Last year you needed more than a CC and a 'fictitious company' to get in. Even as a website, we needed a load of shit that any real company would have.

A friend from Buena Vista Interactive hooked me up with a free guest badge for E3 2003. And I asked him liked literally the day before E3

Yeah, in a manner of speaking. Last year when you first entered the building, they'd go through your bags with a fine-tooth comb....and once you got that orange tape to signify that you had already passed inspection, you could walk in and out with impunity. For all they knew, I could have gone back to the parking garage and retrieved a spare nuke from my vehicle. :P

:lol I was wondering about that. As they were checking the compactflash card in my digicam (???) I was thinking "hey, maybe the crazy bomber was just visiting the show to check out Hudson soft products, but this whole security thing has pushed him over the edge!" :lol

But hey, maybe the Soul Calibur and Tekken tourneys are really that rough.

I will give you a pass but you have to pay for the hooker. And I get to have her first (or DP as a compromise).

What are we talking? Heidi Fleiss kinda thing or downtown crack whore?

May im doing the travel's to NY and LA an planning on stopping by E3.

Was there in 2001 and yes "paid" to get in. Seen that the price has been bumped $100 up.

Anyone hook a Tightass Aussie up with a pass :)

Yikes. I'd rather go second than be in that kind of a threesome.

This E3 is gonna rock. Anyone know if Marty Chinn is gonna go back to doing E3 videos this year? I'd post a thread, but he's not online and it could be 5 pages down before he is.

They allow negros into E3? I thought they took care of that.

apparently none of my guys came through this year. so who wants to hook me up with a pass?

i'll find a way to get in, i always do, but still, would be nice and comforting to have a pass off the bat.

As long as you guys play Yoshi's Island afterwards.

Not to dishearten anyone, but in the past it hasn't been very productive to just openly beg on the forum for a pass. E3 is not a very exclusive club, but people just don't hand out passes to strangers since it's kind of a hassle to get them in the first place. Ask someone you know that is actively involved in the industry, or start forging your press credentials.

I can probably help...where should I contact you at.

I too need 2 tickets for E3. I will treat you out for food and whatever.

E3? Pay? Unless you mean for transportation or food, I don't know what you mean.
Of course, I keep forgetting to write an article so I can qualify for media.

Quick question for anyone that may know, as I can't check the E3 site from here.

I am currently registered through one company, but my credentials may change within the next couple weeks here. Am I going to have to go through any trouble to get a new badge under the new company?
