EA Reveals In-Game Music Soundtrack for Madden NFL 06

Monday August 1, 6:41 pm ET
Song Line-up Includes Tracks from Rev Run, Foo Fighters, Godsmack, Fall Out Boy, Disturbed, Slim Thug, All American Rejects and More

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 1, 2005--Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS - News) today revealed the highly-anticipated list of bands that will be featured in Madden NFL 06. Characterized by the same intensity and high energy of the sport, the music in Madden NFL 06 brings together the hottest artists from hard rock and hip-hop.
"Every year, the release of Madden NFL Football is a major event for gamers and music fans alike," said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Music Marketing at EA. "Some of today's most important acts were first introduced through the game. This year's in-game soundtrack features some amazing new tracks from artists that we believe will be next year's hottest stars."

The Madden NFL Football franchise is widely recognized as a driving force behind launching new music and this year is no different. In 2006, Madden NFL Football returns with an all-star line-up of multi-platinum bands and emerging acts. Up-and-coming bands such as Nine Black Alps, Avenged Sevenfold, Finch, Hot Hot Heat and Fall Out Boy join established acts such as The All-American Rejects, Disturbed, Godsmack and Foo Fighters. Also this year, some of the most promising new hip-hop artists will make appearances in the game, including Kanye West's protegee Bump J, Spider Loc, who recently signed with 50 Cent, Sam Scarfo, who is the first act that Jay Z signed to DEF JAM, and Stat Quo, who was recently signed by Eminem. Even with all of these phenomenal songs, the crown jewel of the hip hop line-up is 'Mind On The Road' from Rev Run, who is most famous for bringing rap music to the world's stage with Run D.M.C. in the mid-1980s. These songs will raise the temperature in football stadiums nationwide this season.

As an added feature, Da Riffs remixed a number of original NFL FILMS music pieces that will be showcased throughout the menus and in gameplay. Da Riffs are a cutting-edge hip-hop production team who recently signed with Next Level Music -- the groundbreaking music publishing joint venture between EA and Cherry Lane Music.

jesus, does 2k have to brought into every thread? I swore it said Madden in the title. Go make your own 2k thread if its that serious. I enjoyed the series as much as the next man, but coming into every madden thread has to get old...right?

Yeah I really miss the crappy butt rock and bad techno no license rip off tunes played in the 2K series. Madden needs custom in game though.

wow, I never heard about this. NFL FILMS kicks ass. 06 hasn't changed enough to warrant a purchase for me. I'm a much bigger baseball fan. MVP 4 lyfe.

Are they offering both the original and remixed versions of the NFL Films music. If it's just the remixed versions, I will be really disappointed.

Nine Black Alps? I saw them play live a few weeks back. And they're actually pretty good! Plus I like Foo Fighters... can't speak about the rest though.

Thats because hes wit Pharell now...

This guy literally sold millions underground, only person that rivals him is Lil Flip in that regard.

Would've loved some MF Doom, but people arent ready for his type of music.

The version everyone should be buying (Xbox) has custom soundtracks so this doesn't really matter, at least not in the menus.
