EA SPORTS FC 26 | Official Reveal Trailer

EA need to put their money where their mouth is with this game, open beta, and or a demo, not just the EA Play trial, otherwise that trailer could well be the biggest act of trolling in the gaming industry, only a complete lemming would pre order or buy this game without real player feedback.

Dead/retired players were at least that good at some point in time, female players cant break tru u-15 boys treshhold at any given time, and i say it as a 0 talent for football/soccer guy(altho i had and have tons of love for the sport, trained almost every day up to 8hours in my teenage years, played with and against much more talented guys who could do twice as much with half the effort), u can clearly see those female players spend less time training total as adults compared to teenage boys, thats why their technique/ball controll/shooting/passing/dribble abilities are so terrible, its not just male vs female physique which are colorado canion of a gap apart, its everything else on top of that too :P

Here recent female wimbledon winner for contrast:

U can see talent/skill/tens of thousands of hours yearly spend on training here, no avg or even above avg male amatour tennis player could even get close to that, she will demolish such a guy w/o needing to run on the cort, with skill/accuracy alone.

I played football at a competitive level (injuries made me stop) and I dont disagree that the skill level difference is gigantic between genders, but UT is a fantasy mode that doesn't even aim to be somewhat realistic so its whatever.

Players from the 50s-70s would absolutely get demolished by modern players as well.

In every other mode the genders are firmly separated and you can't play men vs women.

I've played them on and off since the original in '93. As early as the late 90s, the issue with certain outcomes feeling scripted or predetermined was already present, and that's something that never went away. Poor marking, tic-tac passing, and inexplicable AI defense has been a fixture of that game for as long as I can remember.

I don't think any of this has been a major problem for years. It's a lot better now, especially if you play on Ultimate difficulty.

The difficulty is actually one thing that needs improving. If I play on Ultimate then I get realistic scores and can lose to the AI if I'm playing a top team like Liverpool or Barca. Drop it down a level to Legendary and I can thump any team with ease. The difficulty certainly needs some work.

They've added new moves, new options, new stadiums, new sounds, and certainly the graphics have improved, but, no, the game hasn't made any meaningful strides in realism on the pitch, well, ever.

Are we playing the same game?

A few examples from the last few editions.

HyperMotion, which gave us more natural player movements, Improved first touches and tackles and more realistic behaviours (defenders backing off intelligently etc)

Smarter pressing systems (AI teams press or sit deep)

AI teammates mark zones or track runners more realistically. Improved off the ball runs and anticipation.

There are a load more as well. To say the game hasn't ever made any meaningful strides to improve realism on the pitch is just factually incorrect.

Go back and play say, FIFA 18 and then play EAFC25. Completely different game.

They do this shit every year. Madden and FIFA have these fake new feature trailers every year.
where they make it seem like they're directly addressing tweets/messages from fans ? I've never seen that before thats not the same as just revealing new features.

The same shit every year
Its a sports game, can't exactly start fucking around with the rules.

They sell bucket loads every year, the thing prints money. No way will they veer from the winning formula in any meaningful way. Until they get some serious competition we are unfortunately stuck with this mediocre game.

That's a massive improvement already.

They've got nowhere to hide with this. Every year they glaze the games improved graphics before talking about gameplay. If it sucks balls then it has no selling point.
Absolutely. They still need to convince me to get back to this shite

Everything I read so far is good

The sad thing isn't that people are buying this every year for a roster update. It's that people are buying this and pumping thousands of dollars to build out a new yearly Ultimate Team (i.e. gambling with no chance to win anything).

Still too many Soccer Moms around
Just like Call of Duty

This sounds really promising, competitive gameplay having less animations and other bullshit than the more simulation style career and offline modes is a big win.

Timed finishing was abused for years by people with a Cronus or cheats on PC, the double tap low driven shot has always been the better mechanic, this sounds like they are going back to a Fifa 17 type gameplay for online modes, that's the last time EA had a great football game.

Watched it again, there's a lot to be hopeful about.
  • Low drilled shots replacing timed shooting
  • Being able to shield the ball when being pressed, this makes the midfield actually relevant and not just a game of hot potato trying to get the ball to the forwards
  • Better forward runs, this one is what usually makes me give up every year. The attacking runs in Fifa are so braindead
  • Snappier passing
These things have little to do with simulation football, except the ball shielding one. But the 'good' Fifa games like 14 had all these things and they've been forgotten about as they catered more and more towards brainrot UT gameplay.

The same garbage for a decade. There's not even a shred of effort to create a football game that conveys the sensations of the sport it aims to imitate... It's a disgrace.

I still occasionally put on FIFA 14 and wonder when EA thought nothing was working and needed to transform the gameplay into a game of rebounds, impossible dribbles, and always the same scoring play...

Sports games are my biggest disappointment for a decade...
Monopoly kills sports games ...once konami peaced out of competition that was it

from a non sports gamer, thats a good marketing trailer lol
Their trailers are always good ... they always have a lot of improvements described and nice cgi and nice "look at this new tech name that will make the gane ultra realistic" ... and than release the exact same game from the last 10 years with minor tweaks (sometimes for worse)

This EA sports games are basically anual minimal effort place holders for their not hidden at all gambling business

Each game isn't just a roster update. Lol. Far from it.

They make gameplay changes every year.

Yeah, some people do buy it for UT, but I don't play that mode at all. I'm all about career and basic online matches, as well as local multiplayer tournaments with the lads.

Can't wait to start a new season and take Brum to Champions Leagie glory!

Hahaha this series is an absolute joke ive been playing for years and they always do this they promise the world with all these gameplay updates taht sound great intraiker.

Game releases - youtubers and toxic players moan.

They patch it back to the meta of the last decade.

Pace = win

Animations and fluidity are utter garbage compared to even PES of 5 years ago with a 5th of the budget and team. The engine needs replacing ASAP the animations are so stiff floaty and slide.

Its a gambling card game above anything else.

The realistic game mode looks kind of interesting I prefer realism above anything I think most real football fans do. So I may check this out I usually get invites to the beta so well see.

The vast majority of the "gameplay changes" they make each year are just features they removed 3-4 years ago which they re add and make out like it's something new, they do the exact same thing with Madden every year as well

Wait for 80% sale after 8 months
Buy game at 13 €
Play exhibition/cups only
Ignore FUT/Online to preserve sanity, money and keep enjoying the game while also not having everything earned removed from your face after just 3 years bc server shutdown.

Repeat next year. You Fuck EA and still have your yearly fifa experience. Just need to accept 8/10 months delay.

If they want to show more realism, they should have shown more gameplay depicting Chelsea dismantling PSG in front of the entire world.

Official Career Deep Dive

Just premiered

Looks like they cooked a bit on this one. Lot of new info:

  • Manager Live: Weekly challenges with unlocks like retro kits, ICONs, and Heroes.
  • Manager Market: Hire/fire based on tactics; realistic job offers and movement.
  • Dynamic Events: Optional events that affect your club (media, finances, etc.).
  • Player Career: Choose an origin story, grow via archetypes instead of static stats.
  • Improved Transfers: Players can refuse to renew; loan right after buying is possible.
  • Scouting & Menus: Scout ranges (not exact numbers), custom shortcuts, smoother menus.
  • Smarter AI: Rotates squads better, plays weaker sides in cup matches, more realism.

Sounds good so far. Deflections being random and determined by physics instead of magnetically falling back to the same player sounds much better.

Also liked these random events that can mess with your lineup before a game, reminds of the Champions League game back from 2007 which was more of a story mode than career.

This is damn good. EA are actually doing great so far with it!

I just might grab this at launch after a very very long time, usually it's always an easy 21€ around the steam winter sale.
My only problem is I do not know what the fuck is going on with the shitty performance and all the random stutters, nor did I manage to find any solution or decent explanation.. usually it's blamed at the anti cheat thing, but still the same one doesn't ruin BF 2042 so idk.
At 4k basically unplayable even capped at 60, at 1440p somewhat better even at 120 but still unpredictable and it's killing it for me as probably this is the worst case I've had in years with any game.
Probably still going for it, at least there is refund in worst case.. but I dearly miss playing more football since PES died.

You're damn right they cooked.

All of this looks too good to be true!
