Ebgames.com = poopoo or am I cursed?

I really, really, I mean REALLY wanted to get my hands on Silent Hill 2. I checked countless stores for the game and came up empty handed. Even when I used a store locator to see if they had it in stock, when it says 4+ copies in stock and I checked the store out, they still didn't have the game.

As a last ditch effort to procure the game, I decided to order it from ebgames.com. At $12.99, it was a steal! So on Thursday Sept 23 I ordered it through the mail. I know mail doesn't move on Sundays, but when I didn't hear anything back by the following week Thursday, I started to worry my order was lost in the mail. I sent them an e-mail and I got a message that they received the order two days before I e-mailed them, told me the order number and said have a nice day. The least they could have done was drop me a line to let me know they received the payment; they do ask you to write your e-mail on your order form.

Anyway, long story short, it's Oct 4, I've heard nothing else out of them, I'm still void of Silent Hill 2, and worse yet, the game has been removed from their website. O_o WTF is up with that?

Am I cursed? I mean, I was able to find Castlevania: SotN along with Final Fantasy Tactics, brand new(not greatest hits editions) for $25 last week, yet I can't find a game that's been released waaaay more recently than the two. The only game I ever had this much trouble finding was Breath of Fire 2. I couldn't find the game any where, I searched for a good year, and as a result, I never got to play it on my SNES. I'm hoping the same thing doesn't happen with Silent Hill 2. =(

The $2 shipping option is Media Mail. It can take a while sometimes. When a game goes out of stock, you can't access it from their site. It's very common, especially with preowned games that are popular + cheap. If you order the last copy of an item, the page is gone as soon as your order goes through.

8-9 business days now, though. It seems it would be there by now.

Ebgames.com tells you how many copies are in stock? I thought that was only for Gamestop

Yeah. Gamestop. I went to multiple stores of each chain. Looks like they say they have it in stock again at EB. It wasn't like that this morning. =/

If I get my hands on a copy, I'm not parting with it. With the legendary reviews/comments this game has gotten, I've got to play it! Strangely enough, Silent Hill for PSOne costs twice as much as Silent Hill 2 for PS2. I gave SH1 to my brother-in-law. Maybe I can convince him to give it back so I can pick up 3 then 4 to complete the collection. :D

Just in case you had option, the PS2 Greatest hits version is the one to get. It has all the Restless Dreams content, and the videos still play at 60fps with syched sound.

They did add per-pixel lighting for the Xbox, but it doesn't make a damn bit of difference in the game and they messed the videos up. The vids play at 30frames and the voices never synch up right.

I have all three versions, just because I kept finding one that offerend "more."

Just a warning for ya. Be prepared for a verrrrry slow moving game for the first hour or so. The beginning is one of most boring bit of gaming I've ever experienced, but it does get better. A lot better. Despite the slow start, it is easily my favorite Silent Hill game and one of my favorite games this gen.

The game ending caught me by surprise. The whole concept of the story is just so depressing. I damn near had a tear roll down my eye on the side story with Ernest (Xbox version or PS2 Player's choice).
