Great movie and I'll likely pick up the tin, but what's up with the 'from the imagination of Tim Burton?'

whats the difference from the previous special edition? or the normal edition? I have a letterbox Japanese version which I really should update because it is such low res.

This year has been horrible in terms of new special editions of movies I've already purchased. The market's been flooded with doubledips of my collection this year.

Luckily I've got some willpower, but I hate seeing newer, better editions released and know that I've got some weaker one.

How is this really different that the version that's on the market now? As I recall, that one was already pretty stacked with extras....

What what's up with Dolby 4.0???

It looks like the 10th anniversary edition and this new edition have the exact same features. Can anyone confirm what's new with this version other than the boxart?

there's going to be a special edition that comes in a tin (seems to be all the rage in DVDs these days, King Kong will also feature a special tin version) with some collectible photos. Other than that i think its the same, probably just a re-release to ride the Burton-wave with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Corpse Bride hitting DVD and theatres respectively this fall.

Yeah, this is a total cash-in. A re-release of the old version with a crappier cover. They didn't even bother doing a proper 5.1 audio mix....they at least should have fixed that.

i don't mind though :D I never bought the last release so i'll pick this one up (providing the price is right, since the 10th anniversary release goes for like $10 now)

You'll shell out $15 for a slightly different cover? The new version goes for $15 and the old version is like $10. I really don't see any reason to get the new version, when it's 50% more expensive than the one that's on shelves now.
