hadn't seen this posted yet (other than in that EGM thread from a month ago) but it didn't include pictures. I think this was a really cool idea on EGM's part and would really like to see more of it. (This means you EGM flunkys need to tell the higher-ups to do it again)

RE4 cover is great, Halo 2 cover really sucks. MGS3 cover is the same as Japanese, right? Not bad.

RE4 is a slightly modified version of the Euro cover.
MGS3 is the JP boxart.
MP2 and Halo 2 are uh, made from art assets?

They only came with newsstand issues. Subscribers, for lack of a better phrase, got boned. But Mark was trying to arrange something...

Still, I think they should do it again. StarFox Assault would be a good place to start with the Japanese ICO up next, though I realize that they are probably limited to high-profile games as far as getting approval (funding) goes.

Also - I can make a full insert of RE4 since I have them scanned into the computer. MP2 I would like to do but foil doesn't scan. However, the cover art that TRU gets for placeholder copies of games would work well if someone would be so kind as to get me a copy (hint hint). As for MSG3 and H2, I don't have those games so I couldn't make a full insert.

Could anyone hook me up with the cover art for Metroid Prime (I don't care if it's Players Choice or Original)? Or does anyone know where I could find a scan online? I bought the game on half.com for $8, but it came in a plain DVD case with no cover art.

A blind bisexual chimp called Terry could make better cover art then most companies. The fact EGM made ones even worse says something about EGM more then it does the original artwork...

Thanks. If you have the Zelda Collector's Disc cover art, that would be great too... I couldn't pass up a $15 copy in a bare case.

ok, so what format should I save these in? I have .bmp and it's 81 MB. I don't have that kind of webspace, so what should I do to make them easier to distribute? they are at 600 dpi, so if I change to 300 will it make a difference in print quality v. file size?

300 DPI would be more than adequate for something printing out at the size of a game cover. Just compress it as a very low-compressed JPEG. You'd have to have one incredible color laserjet printer, a magnifying glass, and a complex to notice the difference between it and the bitmap. If it's reasonable enough in size, I'd give hosting it a go. Gotta get canned by my ISP one of these days.

save it as a JPG with very very little compression, or a PNG.

I'll host the picture for you. PM me, and I'll get you my email address. Alternatively, you can zip up the bitmap, and it should reduce the size quite a bit.
