My copy of Eisley's new album, 'Room Noises', finally came in the mail from Warner Bros. Music. It took long enough to get here, but it was well worth the wait.
I've been a fan of bands who eventually lost their appeal, but Eisley's soothing vocals and beautiful harmonies never seem to tire. This album, like their EPs before it, is the epitome of 'easy listening'. They are one of the few bands, along with Ben Folds and a couple others, whos CDs never require that I skip tracks on them to advance to a better song. Consistant good music is the name of their game.
The CD features more than a couple familiar tunes, but the new additions are just as sweet. 'Trolly Wood', the last song on the album, may not seem like anything ground-breaking or spectacular, but I found myself humming it the entire day after listening to it. It gets stuck in your head and it forces you to listen to it again and again. Mind Control? Perhaps.
The other cool thing is that I got some free buttons with my purchase.
I decided to give them the backpack treatment.
It's the best Eisley release so far.
OTHER BANDS TO CHECK OUT: Grandaddy, Radiohead, Midlake
